The soulful British singer more than proves herself with her critically acclaimed new album ’21!’
For once it was talent, and not popularity or image, that ruled the Billboard charts. The phenomenally talented Adele‘s sophomore effort, 21, topped the American charts selling a staggering 352,000 copies — the highest selling album of the year. In comparison, tween pop star Justin Bieber, in all his popularity, could only muster half that the previous week when he topped the chart with his album Never Say Never: The Remixes. Wow.
Adele, a two-time Grammy winner for her debut CD 19, has been on a nonstop press tour for her critically acclaimed album. In addition to her amazing sales, tickets to her American concerts have been selling out in seconds. She also managed to snag that elusive “Best New Artist” trophy that the Biebs could not. Sorry Justin.
