Halle quit the movie she was supposed to start filming to concentrate on fighting for custody of Nahla! She has “serious concerns for her daughter’s well-being while in the care of her father!”
Oh no! We hoped it wouldn’t come to this, but Halle Berry, 44, says she’s preparing to go to court with her ex-boyfriend, model Gabriel Aubry, 35, to fight for full custody of their 2-year-old daughter, Nahla. “Halle has serious concerns for her daughter’s well-being while in the care of her father for any extended period of time and is prepared to take all necessary steps to protect her,” the actress’s rep tells People.com. This is really bad.
To clear her schedule for the custody battle, Halle has pulled out of the film New Years Eve, scheduled to start shooting this week. She has been replaced in the film by Katherine Heigl.
Halle’s rep goes on to say: “She has attempted to resolve these custody issues amicably with her daughter‘s father, Gabriel Aubry, directly, but given his lack of cooperation, Halle has no choice but to seek swift judicial intervention.”
Gabriel filed legal papers with the courts in Los Angeles on December 30th, seeking to be formally recognized as little Nahla‘s father. If your baby is truly in danger, we totally support you, Halle! But if this is all just legal trickery to wrestle custody away from your baby daddy, we hope you have a lot of that modeling money saved, Gabriel! Because Halle is RICH and not afraid to spend that money on some serious lawyering! Yikes!
