Emmy Rossum shows off her more creative side with handbag collection she designed exclusively for Elie Tahari!
Actress Emmy Rossum, star of Showtime’s Shameless, has always been a huge fan of designer Elie Tahari, so of course she agreed to design her own handbag for the brand! The bucket bag, fittingly named Emmy, comes in four different sizes in either tan, black, mushroom, yellow, white or metallic. The bags will be available in stores such as Neiman Marcus, Bergdof Goodman and Saks Fifth Avenue starting in March. Although the prices may be a bit steep, ranging from $398 to $798, part of the proceeds will benefit the charity Safe Horizon.
Not only is this bag super cute, but it’s also totally practical! Emmy told Women’s Wear Daily, “I thought a lot about the kind of bag I wanted: versatile, worn by the working woman in any season. It was important that it had compartments in the sides, because I hate those bags where your iPod cord gets mixed in with your lip gloss.” The design of the handbag matches Emmy’s own personal style, which she describes as sophisticated and a little bit bohemian. She says, “[My style] has developed to be a little more relaxed, a little bit more comfortable.”
Emmy also talked about how she loved the creative process — could a full clothing line be in the future for the stylish actress? Maybe, but for now she says she’s taking things one step at a time. She says, “I want to get really great at what I do first, then maybe later I’ll branch off. Right now I’ll leave it to the people who do it best.” Well, we think she did a pretty great job!
