Taylor Swift practically built her whole career on writing about fairytales, so it comes as no surprise that she was interested in seeing Tangled, the story of Rapunzel, one of the most famous princesses of all time. And our favorite modern princess and her prince Jake Gyllenhaal went to extra lengths to ensure a really special viewing …
Jake made the arrangements to rent out the whole theater, we’re told by source in the know! The first week of December, Taylor, 21, and Jake, 29, bought all the seats at the Regal Hollywood 27 in Nashville so they could see Tangled in complete privacy. “They casually walked in with security, but the security stayed outside the theater door,” our source tells HollywoodLife.com. “So that means they were alone.”
We told you, Swifty takes her princesses very seriously. Not only does she look more than a little like the Tangled heroine but she’s just as plucky as the resourceful new Repunzel. And she wanted to be able to concentrate on the romantic movie with no worldly distractions. Employees of the movie theater were under strict orders to leave the couple to themselves. “Workers were told ‘absolutely nobody in the theater!’ and very few people knew they were going to be there,” says our insider. And that’s how a modern fairytale couple does movie night: private viewing, no other audience members, and (almost) complete secrecy!
It’s also rumored that Jake dropped $10,000 on the ultimate birthday gift for Taylor: a Fender Gretsch guitar, signed by Chet Atkins!
