Jennifer Garner Bonds With Seraphina While Daddy Ben Affleck Is MIA — Again!

The supermom put on a happy face while out and about with her younger daughter. Yet again, Ben wasn’t around.

Just a couple days after spending a fun and activity-filled day with both her daughters, Jennifer Garner hung out in Santa Monica, CA, Tuesday afternoon (December 7) with younger daughter Seraphina, who will turn two next month, leaving five-year-old Violet at home. Isn’t it a shame that Jen’s husband Ben Affleck was missing out on another fun-filled day with his family?

Read our story about Seraphina’s big sister, and whether her recent clinginess is natural, or a symptom that something is wrong at home.

The 38-year-old and Seraphina hit the Color Me Mine shop, where the pair did a little painting (maybe something for Serpahina’s big sister?) before heading back out on the town and feasting on some Goldfish crackers. That’s a pretty down-to-earth way for a famous family to spend an afternoon, don’t you think?

It’s interesting to see Jen out with just Seraphina, especially after the way Violet has been behaving of late, being overly clingy with her mom. Is it Jen’s way of trying to loosen the leash a little? Or is it just nothing more than what it appears to be, a mother spending some quality time with one of her kids to make her feel special? We’ve noticed the change in Violet started around the same time rumors began circulating that Jen’s marriage to Ben, 38, was on the rocks. I don’t think it’s a coincidence. Do you?

No matter what happens with her marriage, Jen’s sure to keep the girls health and happiness as her main priority. “They do have things that are really exciting for them and strange for them, I’m sure. Like living in a different place for a while then going back home,” she said last year. “But kids have that with parents with all different jobs so I try not to look at it as something that is a problem. But kids are kids, they think whatever goes on in their lives is normal.”
