The star of the upcoming drama Rabbit Hole talked to Oprah about spending time with her youngest child, and revealed how fatherhood has changed her husband, Keith Urban.
Nicole Kidman‘s daughter Sunday Rose may only be 2½, but she loves going on shopping and coffee dates with Mommy. But don’t worry that Nicole has her toddler hooked on caffeine. Nicole told Oprah Winfrey on Monday (Nov. 29), that Sunday Rose isn’t actually drinking coffee. Nicole, 43, says she absolutely loves “to go shopping in New York and get coffee. Sunday Rose thinks she is drinking coffee but she just has a cup of froth. I do get embarrassed because she’s like, ‘One cappuccino,’ and I’m like, ‘No, no, she doesn’t drink coffee!'”
Nicole doesn’t stop there, admitting that she adores giving her little one a bath, because, “I also love her little shoulders. She’s in the bath and I see those tiny little shoulders! Don’t get me started!”
And the Aussie Oscar winner also revealed that being a dad has brought out the best in her husband, country music star Keith Urban, 43. She says he has “evolved as a person since having a baby. Selflessness is the main thing that’s changed, and his life gets fuller and fuller.” The couple also discussed Keith’s much-publicized stay in rehab back in 2006, just four months into their marriage.
“[I thought] this could destroy us,” he told Oprah. But, instead, the intervention Nicole led to get Keith back on track (he was addicted to cocaine and alcohol) did the exact opposite. “It was really a profound moment in so many ways,” he said. “The way in which Nic handled that moment was just perfect … Everything was just designed, I believe, for that moment to fuse us together.”
And, four years later, it looks like they’re doing great!
