If you’re a fan of the Project Runway finalist you won’t want to miss this! The fashion designer is putting his new-found fame to good use – he designed two exclusive t-shirts, launching on World AIDS Day, in an effort to raise awareness for the disease.
Most viewers were stunned when Mondo Guerra wasn’t picked as the winner of the past season of Project Runway — his fun personality and beautiful designs made him a fan favorite! Mondo also brought viewers to tears when he announced on the show that he was HIV positive — something he hadn’t even admitted to his family until five days before that episode aired.
Since sharing his personal struggle with the disease, Mondo has been a vocal advocate for AIDS research, and his latest venture combines two of his passions — helping the cause and designing clothes! The designer teamed up with online retailer Piperlime to create two limited-edition t-shirts that showcase both his talent and bold style. The t-shirts, one of which features a bedazzled skull, are being sold for $50 each starting Dec. 1 (World AIDS Day) exclusively on Piperlime.com. $20 of each t-shirt sold will go to amfAR, the organization devoted to putting an end to the AIDS disease through research.
If you’re one of the many fans who rooted for Mondo all season long, here’s your chance to own one of his original designs! And even if you’re not a Project Runway fan, these tees are still a must-have. Not only are they cute, but you’ll be helping out a great cause at the same time — as if you ever needed a reason to shop!
