Tiger Woods is a pro at golf, now he’s working on being a great dad to his two kids.
After what seemed to be a never-ending scandal with his ex-wife, Elin Nordegren, golf champ Tiger Woods, 34, has finally realized that the little things in life are what makes it worth living — like spending time with his two kids Sam, 3, and Charlie, 1½. “Giving my son, Charlie, a bath, for example, beats chipping another bucket of balls,” Tiger says in an article he has written on Newsweek.com. “Making mac and cheese for him and his sister, Sam, is better than dining in any restaurant. Sharing a laugh watching cartoons or reading a book beats channel-surfing alone.” Wow, Tiger seems to be making a real effort to be a better dad and spend quality time with his kids!
Tiger is starting to see that a life as a single dad can be tough, but is completely worth it. “Some nights now, it’s just me and the kids, an experience that’s both trying and rewarding,” Tiger admits. “Probably like the experience a lot of families have every evening around the world.” He has started “to appreciate things I had overlooked before” and is truly basking in the moments with his kids. We’re so happy that Sam and Charilie get to spend time with their daddy — especially if it involves TV and mac and cheese!
“What endures in the record books are the achievements won through competition,” Tiger says. “What endures in our actual lives is the love of our family and the respect of others.”
