Mom-To-Be Mariah Carey Hints That She's Going To Design The Most Over-The-Top Nursery Ever!

Mariah Carey is over the moon about her impending motherhood. But right now the singer is focusing on designing the best room for her bundle of joy. We have a feeling it’s going to be full of bling!

Now that the secret is out about Mariah Carey‘s pregnancy, she’s getting down to business and figuring out what to do with the baby’s bedroom. Her first child with husband Nick Cannon arrives this spring, so she’s still got plenty of time to put the finishing touches on the room, but based on what we saw of her decorating style on MTV’s Cribs, we have a feeling it’s going to take a lot of hard work to turn Mariah’s visions into reality.

Considering that the 40-year-old singer has never been shy about her love of all things uber girlie like rainbows and butterflies, I have a feeling that she’d be happy to have a daughter to follow in her diva footsteps. And her personal taste in decor would definitely appeal to young girls. “Come on, this is me. I already have a Hello Kitty bathroom,” she smiles.

Insiders tell that the songbird has a baby boy on board, even though she and Nick are keeping mum on the subject. “We don’t know the sex yet,” she tells USA Today. “I guess we should find out. But people didn’t used to find out, you know.”

I certainly can’t wait to see what design she decides on. And if it is indeed a little boy, I sure hope she’s just as comfortable with toy trucks and basketball motifs as she is with pink and white kitty cats.

When she’s not thinking about cribs and kid-friendly decor, Mariah is focusing on keeping her lunch down. “There’s always a little bit of nausea, but throwing up is bad for your voice — the reflux is terrible — so I’ve been trying to just keep calm, get through it,” she admits.

The thing that matters most to Mariah is that she and Nick are able to provide a stable family environment for their little one. (Her parents divorced when she was 3, and she was raised by her single mom.) “I want my child to experience having a mother and a father who live together and love each other, to feel secure in that,” she says. “I would have never done this if I wasn’t in a strong, grounded relationship.”

I have a feeling Mariah and Nick are going to be amazing parents. What do you think?
