The star of the new movie Hereafter took his daughters pumpkin picking and ended up with a bigger adventure than he’d bargained for.
Matt Damon may be starring in a spooky new film about what happens after you die (Clint Eastwood’s Hereafter, now in theaters), but what happens when you get lost in a corn maze with your wife and young daughters? Matt’s solution was to bribe a bunch of 12-year-olds to lead them all out! “We were told the maze shouldn’t take more than a half hour or so,” Matt told David Letterman on last Tuesday’s Late Show with David Letterman. “Two hours later, we’re still in there. You had to follow clues to get out, but all the questions were about the boy scouts, and none of us had ever been in the boy scouts.”
The 40-year-old was with his very pregnant wife Luciana, 34, and their three kids, Alexia, 11, Isabella, 4, and Gia, 2, and some friends when they ventured to a New Jersey farm to go pumpkin picking and enjoy some outdoorsy activities. “There was a posting that said, ‘If you knock any of the corn down we’ll throw you out.’ But we hadn’t gone pumpkin picking yet, so we couldn’t just bull our way out,” Matt told Dave. “So we found these little kids just ripping through the corn maze… and eventually they got us out.”
Thankfully, all the Damons made it out of the corn maze intact, and some lovely pumpkins were selected, purchased, and brought home for carving, making it a successful journey!
