The stars are spending the weekend trying to get gorgeous, red carpet skin. Here’s how!
If you’re like me, you’re prepping to watch the stars strut down the red carpet during this weekend’s Emmy awards. While my preparation for said event involves calling my girlfriends over and loading up on snacks and beverages, Hollywood’s hottest stars are racing around to their glam squad appointments, getting everything in order for this weekend’s broadcast. This is especially true of skin care because if you think your zit looks ginormous in person, imagine having that sucker blown up in HD across a 51″ flat screen. Not good, people.
Want to know where the stars go when they need glam skin in a hurry? Here are five of the most coveted treatments red carpet skin:
Hot starlets like Bones cast member Emily Deschanel keep their skin high and tight at Santa Monica’s Arcona Facial Studio with their signature Facial Contouring Treatment, a deep muscle facial massage that tightens and tones without the pain (and recovery time) of plastic surgery. The results aren’t forever (about a few days to a month or so), but it makes all the difference on that big night. A product they use that I love is the Chamomile Balm, which gets rid of redness.
Rachel Zoe isn’t just dressing stars for the red carpet anymore. The reality tv breakout star needs to make sure she looks camera ready as well, which is why she heads to Bliss Hollywood for their Remede Alchemy Facial, which includes extractions, hand and foot paraffin wraps, anti-aging masques and a scalp massage (to quote Zoe, “I DIE”.) If you can’t get to a Bliss location, you can still get the Laboratoire Remède Alchemy Trio, a set of the genius anti-aging products used in the treatment that combat wrinkles and fine lines.
Stars like Kate Walsh, Mariska Hargitay and Hilary Duff all love beauty guru Kate Somerville, especially her DermalQuench™ Oxygen Treatment, which combines oxygen, vitamins and hyaluronic serum with hyperbaric pressure to deliver unbelievable hydration and serious age reduction. Anyone wanting a little of this magic at home should get in on her Quench Hydrating Face Serum, which locks in water so moisture can’t escape or her Nourish Daily Moisturizer, a must for anyone staving off wrinkles and fine lines.
Ellen Pompeo is a fan of Kinara Day Spa, where she can indulge in Halle Berry’s favorite skin care regimen, the Red Carpet Facial, which uses lactic and amino acids, steam and a special mask to infuse age-defying goodness directly into the skin, leaving plump, youthful skin behind. You can even recreate the experience at home with their Red Carpet Facial Kit.
Desperate Housewives Felicity Huffman and Teri Hatcher have been known to hit Ona Day Spa, where they can relax and unwind in a Zen-like setting and enjoy fabulous facials like the Ona Renew, a powerful pumpkin peel facial that rejuvenates and stimulates the skin. You need to exfoliate regularly for youthful skin, so try their BHA/Enzyme Soft Micropolish to make that happen.
As a matter of fact, why not have a little at-home spa time with your besties while you watch the broadcast? That way, while we’re checking out all that perfect skin walking across the red carpet, you can get glam in the privacy of your own home.
