FATBOY TO SLIM! Jon Gosselin Starts Nutrisystem — And Nutrisystem Tells Us, 'Good Work, Jon!'

Maybe the best thing Jon Gosselin has done since dropping Hailey Glassman … dropping pounds with a real weight-loss program — Nutrisystem.

Jon Gosselin tweeted that he’ started weight-loss program Nutrisystem. On Friday Jon posted “started @NutriSystem with @ellen_ross1 this week… let’s see how this goes.” to his most often used method of communication, his Twitter.

Jon has admitted that his weight has always been an issue for him. When starring on his hit TLC show Jon and Kate Plus 8, Jon struggled with resisting now ex-wife Kate Gosselin‘s gooey, calorie-filled desserts. On one episode, Jon sadly says to his then-wife, through his sticky buns covered pie hole,”You just want me to be fat so you can make fun of me all the time.”

HollywoodLife.com spoke with NutriSystem to find out if maybe Jon could be the new face of their brand — but don’t hold your breath!

“He’s not an official spokesperson, we just learned about this,” says Susan McGowan, Senior Director for public relations at NurtiSystem. “Jon is a customer and we are happy he selected us. We’re not planing on using him in an ad campaign right now. But we’re not surprised he decided to use NutriSystem, a lot of men turn to our program.”

But Susan did offer some encouraging words to the reality TV dad.

“Keep up the good work Jon,” says Susan .”We are glad you picked NutriSystem!”

Perhaps the weight loss program is already working! Radar Online posted photos of a much more svelte Jon who was spotted swimming with his girlfriend Ellen Ross at his apartment complex in Reading, PA over the weekend and it seems he might have shed a few pounds.
