The singer, who is so supportive to her nieces and nephews, would still like to have kids of her own.
It’s one thing to have a cool aunt you can go to for help when your parents are mad at you, but when that cool aunt is a huge star like Janet Jackson? Well, that’s just totally cool! The 44-year-old singer, who has found love in the arms of industrialist Wissam Al Mana a year after her breakup with longtime love Jermaine Dupri, is constantly hearing from her nieces and nephews (including Michael‘s three kids), who turn to her when they want to smooth things over with their dads (her brothers).
“I get texts and emails all day long from them. Auntie Janet this and Auntie Janet that,” she told Britain’s You magazine. “I’m the aunt that they come to when they think they’re going to get in trouble. You know, ‘I just got a tattoo, or a piercing. And my dad saw it last night and he wants to choke me! Can you talk to him, Auntie Janet?'”
All that fuss might make someone glad they don’t have the responsibility of raising their own children, but not Janet. She still likes the idea of having kids of her own, but understands that it might not happen for her.
“Yes, at some point. I’d like to,” she tells London’s Daily Mail of becoming a mom. “But my view is that if it’s God’s plan for me to have children then it’s going to happen. I’m not panicking. It would be very, very sweet if I did have children. The icing on the cake. And I like sweet things. But it doesn’t feel essential.”
But if she ever does have children, who will be their cool auntie?
