Sorry, Madonna! Even Cool Moms Like You Embarrass Your Kids

Here’s something all moms (and their kids) can relate to: Madonna’s 13-year-old daughter Lourdes Leon blogs about how her mom made her cringe.

It’s one thing when Madonna is up on stage, performing for an arena filled with fans. Her daughter Lourdes Leon is fine with that. But when Madonna herself is one of those fans? Well then, all bets are off. That is, according to Lourdes, who blogged about seeing Jay-Z in concert and how her mom’s enthusiastic dancing had the teenager covering her face.

“My mom was dancing the entire time which is LOL now that I think about it,” she wrote in a post she put on her site last week, “but in the moment I was just like, ‘mom…..no…please no.'”

So even a cool mom like Madonna isn’t cool enough! To her credit, Lourdes also admitted to being embarrassed because she didn’t know the words to Jay-Z’s songs, writing, “so I must have looked really stooopid because you know when you know like 2 words to a song and the rest your just mumbling because you don’t actually know any of the rest of the words and you look like a TOTAL dumbass.” She proudly declared, however, that she knew all the words to the night’s final song, “Numb.”

If Lourdes’ post shows anything, it’s that teenage girls will get embarrassed about … well, anything, so there’s not much Madonna can do to avoid making her daughter hide her head in shame.
