The Inception star tells HollywoodLife.com that he’s ready to go behind the camera and is just waiting for the perfect project!
Leonardo DiCaprio has done it all since launching his career in 1990 — the Golden Globe winner has acted in both movies and TV as well as played producer – but now he’s ready for something new: directing feature films!
“[Directing] is something that will come down the line,” the 35-year-old star told HollywoodLife.com confidently at the LA premiere of his new film, Inception, July 13. “It is something I am looking forward to doing – I just have to find the right vehicle. Someday I will get behind something; that would be fun.”
Although Leo is obviously Martin Scorsese’s muse, it looks like he’ll model his directorial debut after a different director: Inception’s Christopher Nolan. “I chose this role because Chris Nolan is a visionary,” he gushed to us. “He has been able to pull off some difficult plot structures with [prior film] Memento and his work with the Dark Knight. This will be his tour de force as far as directing is concerned.”
We can’t wait to see what you’ll direct first, Leo!
