Rain or shine, this superstar is always prepared to give her fans a fantastic performance!
With six #1 singles, it makes sense that Lady Gaga would bring in a huge crowd. But when she appeared July 9 as part of the Today Show’s Toyota Summer Concert Series, NBC saw its expected numbers double within no time — an estimated 19,000 fans showed up at Rockefeller Plaza to scream and cheer for their idol.
“I love you and I’ll cherish you forever,” Gaga told her adoring fans.
While the fame that comes with stardom can be difficult, Gaga says the fans help her keep it all together. “The relationship I have with my fans, which is so pure and wonderful,” she said.
The record-breaking crowd was more than matched by Gaga’s talent, as she sang “Bad Romance” and “Alejandro” amid the mysteriously perfect sprinkles of rain. Fans said the on-and-off rain was almost too perfect, as though Gaga knew exactly when to time her performances.
In my opinion, Hollywoodlifers, her closing performance of “Show Your Teeth” by far the best! It was the only one she had to perform completely in the rain, and it created an effect that only drew her fans in more!
Gaga tweeted yesterday that, in addition to the pizza and water she’d send to fans, she also would have a special surprise for them. That surprise? A world premiere performance of the single “You and I” off her new album!
She says she wrote the song about “the most important person I’ve even met” and was inspired by “all the friends that stood by me.”
In the end, though, she says to her fans: “You! You inspire me!”
