BFFs, you might have thought Bret would fill the seat of Idol creator and judge Simon Cowell, but don’t assume it’s a done deal. The rocker might have another show in the works, and we have the scoop!

Bret Michaels, are you the next American Idol judge? Or are you making some other deals on the side just in case that doesn’t work out! HollywoodLife.com has spoken to a source very close to the Poison frontman, and they tell us that Bret might actually sign on to do a show for CBS called Rock Star Supernova! The show originally ran for two seasons between 2006-08 was hosted by rocker Dave Navarro. Now Bret might be bringing the show back by hosting it!

“He’s been approached by numerous networks,” says our source. “But it looks as though Rock Star could definitely be the one.”

The show’s premise is based on a well-known band looking for a lead vocalist to join their group. The original show centered around Tommy Lee‘s band Motley Crue, Metallica bassist Jason Newsted, and former Guns N’Roses guitarist Gilby Clarke who had formed a new band called Rock Star Supernova and the winner would become the lead singer.

Do you think Bret should ditch his Idol plans and jump on this gig? Tell us what you think!
