Even though he nearly died, Bret won’t be receiving any special treatment on the Celebrity Apprentice finale next week. Donald Trump will play fair and square!
Don’t expect Bret Michaels to get any pity points from Donald Trump during the Celebrity Apprentice finale May 23. Maria Kanellis, the latest contestant to be fired from NBC’s hit reality show, told HollywoodLife.com Trump is the ultimate businessman and he’s NOT into favoritism, regardless of the circumstances!
“It’s unfortunate what happened with [Bret],” the 28-year-old former pro wrestler said during an Apprentice conference call May 18, after raving about how nice the 47-year-old rocker is in real life. “At the same time, Trump sees pretty much what is in the task and that’s it. He doesn’t see celebrity, he sees what gets done in the task. That’s going to be the only thing Trump looks at.”
Despite almost dying from a massive brain hemorrhage earlier this month, Bret will square off with actress and philanthropist Holly Robinson Peete at the finale next Friday, May 23, to win the grand prize of $250,000 for his chosen charity, the American Diabetes Association.
And now that she’s no longer in the running, who does Maria think will take home the top prize: Bret or Holly?
“I’m torn. I’m very torn,” she told us. “I think Bret’s a great guy. I think it’s a great thing he’s doing. He’s got such a great story. Also, with Holly, I’m ON her team.”
Our friend Rob Shuter over at PopEater thinks Bret is a sure bet however, citing TV executives who told him “it will be almost impossible for Bret Michaels to lose.” He goes on to quote one exec who told him: “we are talking about Donald Trump. He never lets a press opportunity pass him by and after all Bret has been through, Trump will definitely make him the winner.”
