First Gwyn allegedly slams Madonna in an interview, then they go on a dinner date together. Now, they’re hardly speaking again. What’s going on with these women? Their relationship is so hot & cold!
Madonna and Gwyneth Paltrow appear to be on the outs again. Last night, Apr. 28, HollywoodLife.com was expecting to see these two former besties arrive arm in arm to The 2nd Annual Bent On Learning Benefit sponsored by alice + olivia in NYC. But, we were there — and can tell you EXCLUSIVELY that these two are on the outs!
Madge & Gwynnie arrived to the benefit separately — and of course, neither spoke to the press. Gwyn walked the red carpet first, and 45 minutes later, Madonna arrived with daughter Lourdes, 13, in tow. (And let’s just say Lourdes looked less than thrilled to be there. She probably wanted to be hanging out with her friends, not her mom!)
At the benefit dinner — which included guests like Heather Graham, Kelly Bensimon, Sean Lennon, designer Stacey Bendet, and Russell Simmons — Madonna and Gwyn did pose for a photo together. “But it was to show good face,” said our source. “It’s too much for Gwyn to keep up that friendship.”
The two were seated at the same table for dinner but hardly spoke! “They were cordial to each other, but that’s it,” our insider dished. That is very different from the days when they were inseparable at parties!
Gwyneth even had a new BFF at her side — Grey’s Anatomy star Melissa George! The two were seen chatting up the night and laughing as they sipped on Robert Mondavi Private Selection wine pairings.
We guess Gwyn is still furious with her former bestie. The actress, apparently referring to Madonna, told May 2010 issue of the UK’s Vogue, “I can ice people out and I can definitely harbour revenge. In fact, I’m having a situation right now with a friend where I’m feeling pretty angry,” adding, “It’s good that [Tracy Anderson] doesn’t train Madonna any more. It was too much. She keeps people waiting — it takes up your whole day.”
Hmm … sounds like a feud to us!
