After nearly four months in the hospital, Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar’s micropreemie daughter is finally headed home where she belongs!
We have news of miraculous proportions — literally! When Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar‘s nineteenth baby, Josie Duggar, was born three months prematurely on Dec. 10, 2009, she weighed less than two pounds. Now, nearly four months later, baby Josie weighs almost five pounds and is going home for the first time ever!
“Michelle and I are very happy to report that little Josie is being released from the hospital today. And while we have plenty of practice bringing babies home, this time is very different,” the 44-year-old 19 Kids & Counting dad said in a statement April 6.
He added, “To be on the safe side, we’ll stay nearby in Little Rock for the short term, with the entire family returning home to Springdale in the near future. We are deeply grateful to the staff at Arkansas Children’s Hospital. And as always, thank you for the continued prayers and support. “
Josie’s physician, Dr. Robert Arrington, told People the miracle baby is now “breathing without oxygen, eating every three hours and [is] stable enough to go home.”
Congrats, Duggar family! We couldn’t be happier for you!
