Our very own American Idol judge called it once again – we were wondering the very same thing!
American Idol judges Simon Cowell, Ellen DeGeneres, Kara DioGuardi and Randy Jackson WERE a little harsh to 23-year-old Idol hopeful Didi Benami after her “overdone” rendition of “What’s Become of the Broken-Hearted” March 30. But did host Ryan Seacrest really need to comfort SO much by refusing to let go of her hand after her epic fail of a performance? Here’s what HollywoodLife.com’s very own Idol judge Blake Lewis has to say about Ryan’s touchy-feely moment!
Blake, 28, calls this awkward display his lowlight of the evening! “Unfortunately, my lowlight goes to Didi Benami. She sang “What Becomes Of The Broken-Hearted,” and man, it was not a good look for her. Song choice was terrible, and it seemed as if she didn’t like it either. The worst part for me was when Ryan Seacrest kept holding her hand and I could tell she didn’t appreciate it. I felt for her cause she has one of my favorite voices in the competition.”
But who rocked out on Idol last night? Check out Blake’s highlights here!
Highlight 1: Usher was the mentor last night, and I have to say that he was one of the best I have ever seen on the show. His comments were spot on, and I really think he helped out every contestant, even though some of them didn’t listen well.
Highlight 2: Michael Lynche performed “Ready For Love” by India.Arie and his tone and intonation were perfect. I think he is going to go far in the competition.
Highlight 3: Andrew Garcia! He finally brought it back to the show last night. I have been hoping for this moment. He had the best song choice of the night performing Chris Brown’s “Forever”. It was great to see him shine again.
Highlight 4: I was actually surprised at Lee DeWyze’s performance. I’m not a big fan of that rocker type vocal and he killed it last night. First time he didn’t have pitch problems. Word!
