It’s a director’s dream to work with young, but seasoned actresses Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning! And HollywoodLife.com spoke EXCLUSIVELY with The Runaways director Floria Sigismondi about working with the girls!
Kristen and Dakota “are different,” Floria told us at the film’s NYC premiere on Mar. 17. “Kristen interpreted her role more physically, so she was actually using her body a lot in very subtle ways. And Dakota was a little bit internalized.”
She added that the girls were a perfect pairing. “I think they worked amazing against each other,” Floria gushed!
HollywoodLife.com also had a chance to check out Floria’s gallery of photos she took on the set of The Runaways, during a swanky party at new NYC hotspot Good Units at the Hudson Hotel on Mar. 16. “I was a photographer first … I’ve always shot on the set of my music videos to capture my creation,” Floria tells us. “So it was hard for me not to take the camera out! Even though we had a still photographer, I just shot the things I found inspiring when I had a minute here or there.”
Floria says her favorite photo is one she took “of Joan and Kristen in the sex pistol t-shirts. [The t-shirt was] handmade and [Joan] made it, so it was very tactile and I loved that.”
And what about working on a set of all girls? “I loved it!” the director confessed. “The theme of the film is girls who got together to do things only men were doing at the time so hopefully that inspirational. All the women on set I really loved — that its something I’ve always nurtured. You don’t see that a lot.”
