And you don’t have to give up your favorite Peanut M&M’s!
Hey BFF’s! Are you wondering how you can take on your New Year’s resolution of losing weight and actually be successful? Well, Kristen Dalton, Miss USA 2009, shared her secrets for staying healthy and fit when we spoke with her on the red carpet of the Daybreakers premiere on Jan. 7 in New York City.
“I work out with a trainer three times a week and I try to do cardio 3 or 4 times a week,” Kristen tells us. “I [also] make sure I have a diet full of fiber because it keeps you full,” she continues.
Here are four more of Kristen’s tips on how to achieve a pageant ready bod:
- “Eat 5-6 small meals a day to keep your metabolism up.”
- “Eating healthy. For me, berries and yogurt make me feel very full for a long time. It has a lot of protein and rasberries, blackberries and grapes. It’s my favorite snack!”
- “Excercisie regularly, but do things that you love to do so that you feel like you are doing something good for yourself but you enjoy doing it at the same time.”
- “Don’t deprive yourself of anything, if you have a favorite snack. Mine is peanut m&ms. I have peanut m&ms every day because it keeps my blood sugar levels normal so that I don’t binge or really crave anything. And, I don’t feel like I’m depriving myself.”
So, don’t give up on your goal just yet. It’s a new year and time for new beginnings. With Kristen’s tips in mind, you should be on the road to knocking off those pounds. And, hey — as soon as winter is over, you will already be in bikini shape in time for beach season!
