That’s a wise resolution, Jess, but can you keep it?
It’s hard to stick to your guns when it comes to new year’s resolutions. Sure, we set off with purpose on Jan. 1, but sometimes it’s impossible to keep a promise to yourself.
Luckily for Jessica Simpson, 29, we at HollywoodLife.com are here to help. When we heard that she was “turning over a new leaf and not answering calls from exes” in 2010, we thought we’d enlist the assistance of relationship expert Matt Titus.
“Jessica needs to start the new year in an extremely self-absorbed fashion,” says Matt, author of Why Hasn’t He Called Yet? “She needs to stop living for her exes.”
But how can Jess fight the urge to reply to Adam Levine on Facebook, GChat Tony Romo or retweet John Mayer on Twitter?
1) Go Old School. “Every time Jessica feels the urge to connect with an old boyfriend via Twitter or Facebook, she should put down the phone, pick up a pencil and write down her romantic thoughts in a dating diary,” says Matt.
2) De-Friend De-Follow and Delete: “De-friend all ex boyfriends on Facebook, de-follow them on Twitter (stop following them) and delete them from her phone and email address book…MOVE ON,” urges our expert.
3) Un-Plug and Take – a Run From Fame. Says Matt, “Jessica needs to go from high- tech to high-life and only be in the media spotlight when it brings attention to her great looks, acting career or products not her unfulfilling romantic escapades.”
And there you have it! Out with the old and in with the new, Jess. Now that you’re dating Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan, you should focus your future attention on him – not on your past relationships.
