‘The Vampire Diaries': Getting Rid Of Katherine Was A Necessary Evil

After centuries of causing unthinkable pain all over the world — from Mystic Falls to the Ukraine and back — Katherine Pierce is dead. Buried. Gone. And while we’ll miss her as she rots away in Hell, her death was a necessary move for the show.

I hate to say it, but The Vampire Diaries has been… shaky… this season. It’s understandable since they’re pretty far along at Season 5, but the same ol’ Damon (Ian Somerhalder)/Elena (Nina Dobrev)/Katherine (also Nina Dobrev)/Stefan (Paul Wesley) love quadrangle drama was beginning to feel repetitive. Therefore, getting rid of a quarter of that quadrangle was an excellent idea.

After we got past the “they don’t know that we know that they know” parts of The Vampire Diaries, Stefan (Paul Wesley), Caroline (Candice Accola) and Matt (Zach Roerig) did everything in their power to lure Katherine (Nina Dobrev) into their house so that they could kill her once and for all to get Elena back. However — for the first time ever — Katherine’s more focused on saving her daughter’s life.

The Feb. 20 death of ‘Vampire Diaries’ crew member Sarah Jones, who was hit by a train while filming scenes for the film ‘Midnight Rider,’ has affected the industry worldwide, and now the prestigious International Cinematographers Guild is holding a candlelight vigil in her honor.

27-year-old Sarah Jones died tragically and senselessly on the set of the film Midnight Rider, and now that the international campaign to honor her memory and raise awareness of on-set safety has grabbed the nation’s attention, the industry’s best and brightest are holding a candlelight vigil in her honor.

Sarah Jones Likely Won’t Be Included In Oscars ‘In Memoriam’ Segment

After ‘The Vampire Diaries’ crew member lost her life on the set of another project, the ‘TVD’ cast and many others moved for her to be included in the “In Memoriam” segment during the Academy Awards on Mar. 2. However, a new report claims that the emotional petition hasn’t swayed the awards show committee.

The TV and film communities are still in mourning after The Vampire Diaries crew member Sarah Jones was tragically killed by a freight train while on the set of an upcoming movie. But even though there has been an outpouring of support within the entertainment community — and even more so from outside of it — a new report says that the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences are still refusing to include Sarah in the Oscars “In Memoriam” segment.

‘The Vampire Diaries’ faced a devastating loss when a young crew member named Sarah Jones died in a horrific train accident while filming a movie. On Feb. 27, as the cast and crew fought to raise on-set safety awareness in the real world, the show aired a beautiful tribute to Sarah after its latest brand new episode.

The Vampire Diaries has always referred to its cast, crew, and fans as the “TVD Family,” and this family has never been stronger than now, as they deal with the tragic loss of one of the show’s beloved crew members, Sarah Jones. Sarah, who was only 27 years old, was struck by a train and killed while shooting the film Midnight Rider in Georgia.

Tragedy hit the set of ‘The Vampire Diaries’ on Feb. 20, when beloved crew member Sarah Jones was killed in a train accident while filming a movie in Jesup, Georgia. Now, ‘TVD’ stars Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder have taken to social media to let the world know just how special Sarah was to the cast.

Sarah Jones died tragically at the age of 27 on Feb. 20, when she was struck by a train while filming the Greg Allman biopic “Midnight Rider” in Georgia. Sarah was also a crew member on The Vampire Diaries, and stars like Nina Dobrev, Ian Somerhalder, and Paul Wesley have used the Internet to send out heartfelt messages honoring Sarah’s memory.
