‘Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1′: First Character Posters Unveiled

‘The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1′ is going to possibly be the darkest in the series. The first character posters for the upcoming film were finally revealed and it’s looking pretty bleak in District 13.

May the odds be ever in their favor. The Hunger Games: Mockingjay — Part 1 is hitting theaters on Nov. 21 and many of our beloved characters, who’ve crossed over to District 13 as part of the rebellion, are in for the fight of their lives. Finnick (Sam Claflin), Plutarch (Philip Seymour Hoffman), Haymitch (Woody Harrelson) and more are all showcased, but be sure to check out all the character posters in our gallery!

Look out, President Snow! The Mockingjay lives in the latest trailer for ‘The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1′ and it looks like she and District 13 are about to rise up and wreak havoc on the Capitol. Watch the haunting new trailer right here!

In a just-released Hunger Games teaser, President Snow (Donald Sutherland) is mid-propaganda speech, with a brainwashed Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson) standing silently by his side, when he gets a very unpleasant interruption from District 13. Looks like there’s trouble in paradise!

‘The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1’: Peeta & Snow Unite In New Trailer

Get pumped Panem fans! In a just-released trailer we get a sneak peek at President Snow giving a one-minute propaganda speech as Peeta Mellark stands silently by his side.

The President has spoken! Cruel and cold President Snow (played by Donald Sutherland) delivers his address with Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) by his side. The speech is part of a marketing campaign put out in advance of the November 21 release date of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 (which also stars Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth, Sam Claflin, Julianne Moore and the late Philip Seymour-Hoffman).

mtvU, which is MTV channel’s college network, announced the official nominees on June 19 for the first-ever ‘mtvU Fandom Awards!’ So many of our favorites are on the nominations list, from ‘Teen Wolf’ to ‘The Vampire Diaries’ to ‘The Hunger Games.’ 

In mtvU’s first-ever “Fandom Awards,” superfans worldwide can vote for awards like Ship Of The Year, OMG Moment Of The Year and Breakout Fandom Of The Year. Voting starts today and ends when the show airs in July! Read on for all of the nominations!

‘Hunger Games’ Will Digitally Recreate Philip Seymour Hoffman


Philip Seymour Hoffman still had seven days left of filming ‘Hunger Games: Mockingjay — Part 2′ when he died of a suspected overdose on Feb. 2, and now the film is working on digitally recreating the actor for his last remaining crucial scene.

When Philip Seymour Hoffman died of an alleged heroin overdose on Feb. 2, he still had one major scene left to film on Hunger Games: Mockingjay — Part 2.

‘Hunger Games: Mockingjay’ Suffers From Philip Seymour Hoffman Death

Lionsgate has already announced that neither ‘Hunger Games: Mockingjay’ film would be affected by Philip Seymour Hoffman’s untimely death, but insiders report that one very crucial scene is now in jeopardy.

Philip Seymour Hoffman brought depth and integrity to every role he took on, and he wowed audiences with his portrayal of head gamemaker Plutarch Heavensbee in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire last November. Now, insiders are reporting that a major scene from Mockingjay — Part 2 is hanging in the balance after Philip’s tragic death.

Jennifer Lawrence & ‘Hunger Games’ Cast Mourn Philip Seymour Hoffman


Philip Seymour Hoffman was only seven days short of completing his work in the ‘Hunger Games’ trilogy when he tragically passed away on Feb. 2. Later that day, the cast broke their silence to express their ‘devastating loss’ in a joint statement.

While we would have loved to see Jennifer Lawrence and her sexy co-stars Liam Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson grace the first poster for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1, this image of a mockingjay encircled by flames is pretty sweet. And it definitely has us excited for the latest installment of The Hunger Games, which, sadly, is still 10 months away. Talk about a tease!

The White House Plays Thanksgiving ‘Hunger Games': Caramel Vs. Popcorn

Looks like even the White House has Katniss fever! The National Thanksgiving Turkey pardon became a ‘Hunger Games’ style turkey death match this year — only this time, Americans were responsible for picking the Capitol’s Victor. Did we make the right choice?

We all obviously wanted Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) to win the “real” Hunger Games, but did America make the right decision when it chose the National Thanksgiving Turkey? The race between “Little Monster” Caramel and “Proud Strutter” Popcorn was close, but there can only be one Victor. Read on to find out who gobbled their way into America’s heart!
