Taylor Swift & Selena Gomez: Thanks For Burying The Silly Idea That Girls Are Always Rivals

REX/Shutterstock

I know, I know that Taylor Swift has long been on a mission with her ‘girl squad’ to prove that women can be friends — not just frenemies — but last night, she and Selena Gomez really demonstrated how true that is.

Last night, April 3, was a major milestone for Girl Power, with Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez showing us how it’s done at the iHeartRadio Music Awards. It was a huge night for both talented young women, with Selena taking home the award for Triple Threat and Taylor landing four of the coveted prizes, including Best Tour and Album of the Year. But here’s the best thing about all this: both stars took the opportunity onstage at the awards show, to make a statement about the importance of female friendship.

Birth Control: Why The Supreme Court Should Insist That All Women Get Cost Covered

Courtesy of Wikipedia Commons

Would you be angry if your employer refused to allow your health insurance to cover the cost of your birth control, because it was against the boss’ religious beliefs? The Supreme Court is considering this issue right now.

When Congress passed the Affordable Care Act, it guaranteed by law that all female employees would have the cost of their birth control covered by insurance. Fantastic, right? After all, insurance companies routinely reimburse men for the cost of the men’s “sex” drug, Viagra, as well as for Rogaine, which helps them grow hair on their bald heads. If men can get reimbursed to buy a drug that gives them erections for sex, then surely a woman should be able to be reimbursed for the birth control pill or IUD (intrauterine device) so she can make family planning decisions.

Donald Trump: Insulting Heidi Cruz Is New Proof That He’s Unfit To Be President

Courtesy of Twitter/ REX/Shutterstock

American women, rise up! You need to rally against misogynist Donald Trump becoming the GOP candidate for president. When he insulted Ted Cruz’s wife Heidi, supposedly for not being as beautiful as his wife, Melania, that was the final, FINAL straw!

Donald Trump shockingly crossed one more moral line by insulting Heidi Cruz, Ted‘s wife, twice in recent days. Wait, let me correct that — first, Trump threatened Heidi, tweeting that he’d “spill the beans” on her, suggesting that he had some scandalous info about her. He went to war against Heidi in retaliation for an ad on Facebook showing Melania Trump posing nude in GQ magazine . It produced by an anti-Trump Super PAC — but it was not the doing of Ted Cruz.

Bachelor Ben Higgins, you didn’t go wrong when you ultimately cut  JoJo Fletcher loose and got down on your knee to propose to Lauren Bushnell. In fact, the look of love couldn’t have been clearer on last night’s Bachelor finale and then on the After the Rose and Jimmy Kimmel Live show.

Donald Trump: Stop Inciting Students & Children To Spew Hate Against Minorities

Donald Trump, not only are your racist rants inspiring scary, bigoted behavior among students and children, you’re too much of a coward to even respond to questions about the frightening phenomenon.

Donald Trump, you weren’t man enough, despite your extra large penis, to answer NPR reporter Cokie Roberts‘ question about children repeating your deportation threats to other children. That’s right, Donald. Respected journalist Cokie Roberts asked for your response to incidents in which white children have taunted minority children with your name and your promises to deport illegal immigrants. Here’s what went down  between you and Cokie on the morning of Weds., March 9.

Why The Supreme Court Must Protect Women’s Access To Abortion

REX

Today, March 3, the Supreme Court is hearing arguments about whether to keep or strike down onerous regulations imposed on Texas abortion clinics, forcing many to close. Hollywoodlife.com talks to actress and activist Amy Brenneman, who once had an abortion, about why it’s critical that the court preserve a woman’s access to the procedure.

Do you believe that American women should have the right to a safe and legal abortion, under at least some circumstances, in America? Do you want to make sure that you have that choice if you ever desperately needed it? If so, you should pay close attention to the Supreme Court as it hears arguments today and then considers its decision. Your constitutional right of 40 years, to an abortion, could we taken away, warns actress and activist Amy Brenneman.

Bachelor Ben Higgins Was A Jerk For Sleeping With, Then Dumping Caila

Come on, Bachelor Ben. You HAD to know that your feelings for Caila just didn’t measure up to your infatuation with both Lauren B. and JoJo BEFORE you slept with her in the Fantasy Suite. The sleep-then-dump move is despicable.

Bachelor Ben Higgins, being the most eligible man in America does not give you the right to seduce a woman — Caila — into sleeping with you, knowing that you were just going to dump her days later. I’m not buying the lame excuse that you ended up giving crushed Caila, after you thoroughly enjoyed your night of lust with her. When heartbroken Caila confronted you, stammering out the question, “did you know this week [how you felt]?” ie before you slept with her, you pled ignorance.

‘The Bachelor’: JoJo’s Brothers Were Right To Give Ben Higgins The Third Degree

Why did Ben Higgins act all surprised when JoJo’s brothers cornered him during his hometown visit and accused him of ‘brainwashing’ their sister? Has TV ‘reality’ land blurred his perception of reality? No family is going to like a man who’s four-timing their daughter!

Bachelor Ben Higgins, you have to get over feeling “unsettled” after being rightfully confronted about your intentions by JoJo’s two protective brothers. Did you really think that you’d be welcomed into totally open arms by four families who care a whole lot more about their daughters than they do about a stranger like you? A stranger who is getting serious with four different women on national TV in a quest to supposedly find a wife?

DKNY’s Streetsmart Collection Would Look Fantastic On Rooney Mara & Lorde

REX

Watch out, Ted Cruz! DKNY designers Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osbourne have a major message to you and all NYC haters in their Fall 2016 collection — Don’t Knock New York! The message was  emblazoned on sweatshirts and got loads of cheers!

If there is one key thing that the DKNY collection has always stood for — under its birth mother Donna Karan and now with new parents Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osbourne — it’s the celebration of New York City’s  spirit. It’s gritty, urban style, the packed city streets, the fast pace, the diversity, the 24/7 energy, the blaring noise, the ambition, the creativity, and the striving that all adds up to NYC’s unique and unabashed personality. And it’s that urban personality that gets full expression and celebration in Dao-Yi and Maxwell’s new collection.

Bachelor Ben Higgins & Contestants: Why Do They Have Such Inane Conversations?

Ben Higgins, I buy your sincerity about marriage. I do think you want to find a wife on ‘The Bachelor’. So why do you have such ludicrous discussions with your dates?

Bachelor Ben Higgins, you’re handsome, you’re smart and you seem to be committed to finding a wife on The Bachelor. So why are you wasting your time having the most inane conversations every time you get a moment alone with a girl? GOP Presidential Candidates’ Attacks On Hillary Clinton & Megyn Kelly Are War On All Women

Getty

Chris Christie promises to ‘beat’ Hillary Clinton’s ‘rear end’ at a campaign rally; Donald Trump calls Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly a ‘bimbo’ and Ted Cruz promises Hillary ‘a spanking’. These vulgar, sexist attacks against women are relentless and they WILL affect the lives of every American woman.

Sadly, it’s been completely okay in the 2016 presidential campaign for Republican candidates to repeatedly verbally assault women. Now, 158.6 American million women better get prepared to be treated with disrespect if one of these candidates is elected. Donald Trump, Ted Cruz and Chris Christie have savagely attacked Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton, GOP candidate Carly Fiorina, anchor Megyn Kelly and numerous other female reporters covering the election. And they have suffered no consequences for their behavior.
