The Top 7 performed on the April 16 episode of ‘American Idol’, and the theme was ‘Competitor’s Pick’, where each contestant had their songs chosen for them by their competition.

For the performances on the April 16 episode of American Idol, the contestants sat down with Randy Jackson to give their best song choice ideas for their fellow competitors. Then, with their list of seven possible choices in hand, it was left to each individual Idol to make their final decision. Caleb Johnson messed up big time by giving Jena Irene the choice to sing “Creep” by Radiohead because she totally killed it — as she always does — and made herself the clear frontrunner of the competition at the same time. ‘American Idol': Malaya Watson Shouldn’t Have Been Sent Home

Courtesy of FOX

Malaya Watson was eliminated from ‘American Idol’ on the April 10 episode and not only was it the most heartbreaking thing to watch, but it was a total waste! The judges should have held their save for the more worthy and consistent Malaya than for the still great, but not as talented, Sam Woolf.

It’s no secret that I’m the Founder, President, and Treasurer of the Malaya Watson fan club, but it really was a waste that she got sent home last night. It’s kind of difficult to belabor the point since she’s gone — and it’s all America’s fault — and since there’s nothing we can do about it, but I’m gonna, anyway. Sam Woolf, 17, shouldn’t have been saved last week, and I knew that this would happen, that some other, more worthy, contestant would be sent home the following week in his place. Read on and and tell me if you agree! And send Malaya your good thoughts, because dang, she is just 16 and so, so talented.
