The 5’7″ actress went on Today on May 16 to talk about her role in Star Trek, hints about her bisexuality and addressed the controversy right off the bat:

“It would have been wrong if they were lying about my weight,” she said. “This is how much I weigh. It’s something I can’t control. It’s who I am. I have a very thin frame, I was a ballet dancer. They wanted to do that, I don’t think it was to make an issue of my weight. I think it was to talk about that for a lightweight person, I seem to be really strong-minded.”

About the nude photo shoot, Zoe admitted: “I wanted to be bold and myself and be naked in a very symbolic way with my fans.”

The Star Trek Into Darkness star has stripped down for the June issue of Allure magazine and she is ready to reveal her body and her weight to readers everywhere. Zoe Saldana, 34, can be found in the spread posing in nothing but a gold cuff and remains all smiles while showing off her slim self — it’s amazing to see someone with so much confidence!

Zoe Saldana In ‘Allure’ — All Natural Hair and Makeup

The line on Zoe’s cover story reads “Zoe Saldana: 115 Pounds of Grit and Heartache.” The actress is 5’7″. Do you think the mag went too far by revealing her weight?

Being photographed in little to no clothing isn’t the only part of Zoe’s natural look — her hair and makeup follow the natural theme as well! Though usually pictured wearing her signature bright red lipstick, for Allure, Zoe sticks to bare lips and neutral eyeshadows and blushes to emphasize her natural look. Makeup artist James Kaliardos explains that they “tried to steer away from her classic red lips” for the purpose of portraying Zoe as an all-natural beauty.

To complete her look, James used gold, brown, and beige eyeshadows, peach blush and nude highlighters on her cheeks, and finally, a light coating of peachy pink lip gloss to maintain a soft and natural appearance.

For the finishing touch, hairstylist Garren stuck with Zoe’s naturally curly hair, which she admitted to preferring over her “usual salon-straightened strands.”

Zoe Saldana‘s makeup was flawless at the London premiere of her upcoming film Star Trek Into Darkness. We chatted EXCLUSIVELY with celebrity makeup artist Vera Steimberg, who created her red carpet look, about the products and techniques used!

Zoe Saldana At ‘Star Trek Into Darkness’ — Inspiration Behind Her Beauty Look

“The inspiration for Zoe’s look came from the amazing, glamourous dress she was wearing. It really brought us to a 20′s period style. It was her dress that really made me decide to go with a red lip — I knew it was going to look fabulous!” Vera spilled to HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY.

We were also pleasantly surprised to know that Zoe was very interested and involved with her look!

“I love Laura Mercier because it has something for everyone; they are a great go-to for natural, flawless makeup.”

“For this particular look, choose a good, fun red lipstick that you truly love and then use soft eye colors or just mascara on the top and bottom lashes. You could also use just Vaseline or an eight hour cream to create a natural shine on the eye lids. Then finish the look with just a bit of blush and some powder.”

Zoe’s Star Trek Beauty Look — Get Her Exact Makeup

To make the lips really stand out, Vera applied Laura Mercier Crème Smooth Lip Color in Portofino Red on her lips, giving her a “bright, yet elegant final look.”

With such a dramatic lip, the eyes needed to be much “softer.” Vera used Laura Mercier Crème Eye Liner in Espresso to define the lash line using the Laura Mercier Angled Eye Liner Brush.

On the lid, she applied Laura Mercier Baked Eye Colour in Terracota all over and then added Laura Mercier Baked Eye Colour in Violet Sky on the outer corners to create a subtle smokey eye.

For added contour, Vera mixed Laura Mercier Luster Eye Colour in Bamboo and Laura Mercier Matte Eye Colour in Coffee Ground and applied to the eyelids.

For stunning lashes, Vera used multiple coats of Laura Mercier Faux Lash Mascara in Black to top and bottom lashes.

For a flawless face, Vera wanted a “natural” look. She used Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage in SC-6 to cover imperfections.

After, she lightly dusted Laura Mercier Mineral Illuminating Powder in Candlelight to set her face. To finish the look, Vera applied Laura Mercier Crème Cheek Colour in Blaze to her cheekbones and layered Laura Mercier Second Skin Cheek Colour in Spiced Cider on top for an extra pop of color.

Zoe Saldana walked the red carpet at The Empire Cinema in London’s Leicester Square for the Star Trek Into Darkness premiere on May 2 where the star took a chance in a high-fashion frock from the Vionnet Pre-Fall 2013 collection.

The 34-year-old star’s premiere look had a lot going on. From the white high-low skirt to the backless, embellished bodice this dress definitely wasn’t a safe choice — and few stars could have pulled it off. In fact, Zoe almost stumbled in the dress when she attempted to fan out her skirt! Her heel got caught on the back of the hemline, but luckily for her her co-stars were there to lend her a helping hand while she steadied herself.

With Zoe’s cool confidence the star manages to totally rock the red carpet in this ensemble. She finished off her premiere look with a red pout and a chic, retro updo. I love the way she kept it simple and chic with her beauty routine, keeping the focus on the intricate detailing of her dress. Her side ‘do added to the high-fashion look. Black Christian Louboutin peep-toe, ankle-strap pumps polished off the get-up.

Zoe was joined on the red carpet by her co-star’s, including Alice Eve, Zachary Quinto and Benedict Cumberbatch.

I definitely think this is Zoe’s most daring look to date on this promotional tour — but did the risk pay off? At first glance I wasn’t obsessed with this dress but it immediately started growing on me. What do you think?

Zoe Saldana exuded glamour on the red carpet at the Star Trek Into Darkness premiere in Berlin on April 29, where the star opted for a vibrant pink ensemble that really caught our attention. The 34-year-old star looked flawless in Balmain separates. In fact, at first glance the satin skirt and long-sleeved top actually looked like a dress!

From the structured skirt to the embellished top, there’s no denying the fact that her outfit had a lot going on — but Zoe pulled it off flawlessly! Sweeping her hair back in a low bun allowed the focus to remain on the exquisite detailing of her get-up while shimmering eyeshadow and a glossy pout tied the whole look together.

Zoe’s pink premiere look wasn’t the only outfit the star flaunted while in Berlin! In fact, for a photocall on April 28 at the rooftop of the China Club she stepped out in a crop top and matching skirt from Calvin Klein‘s Fall 2013 collection. The separates were so appropriate for the occasion and the star looked radiant in the ensemble. Zoe paired the wool skirt with nude Jimmy Choo sandals. A bright red lip added a refreshing pop of color and the shade also matched her red manicure.

Zoe Saldana’s Hair At The MTV Movie Awards – Get Her Glam Waves

Celebrity hairstylist Mara Roszak used Moroccanoil products to create her shiny, flawless look.

“I decided to go with an easy, low maintenance hair style to give Zoe’s entire look a more effortless feel,” Mara told HollywoodLife.com.

Here is the complete step by step from Mara:

“I started by applying Moroccanoil Treatment Light to Zoe’s wet hair and blow-dried it using a Moroccanoil Round Brush.

Next, for volume, I set the top of the head in pin curls and then sprayed her whole head lightly with Moroccanoil Luminous Hairspray Medium to add texture and hold.

After I removed the pin curls, I took random sections of hair and wrapped them around a 1 ¼” curling iron, starting half way down from the roots.

Once all of her hair was waved, I broke the sections up and loosened the waves with my fingers.

To finish, I sprayed the entire look with Moroccanoil Luminous Hairspray Strong for a natural-looking, long-lasting hold with shine.”
