Anyone other than John Cena would have called in sick to WrestleMania 29 with a bad case of food poisoning and a broken thumb, but the gladiator toughed it out to beat The Rock in one of the best WrestleMania cards of all time!

John Cena Wins WrestleMania 29

Hours before WrestleMania 29, HollywoodLife.com asked the future champ what his biggest obstacle was in his match against The Rock, and his anser was simple: “I had food poisoning on Wednesday and broke my thumb.”

But instead of complaining about it, he took everything in stride focusing on the importance of the match and what it meant to the 80,000+ fans in MetLife Stadium, as well as the millions watching at home.

“I took [last year's loss] a little bit too hard,” he told us. “I really thought losing was not an option last year. With The Rock’s limited schedule, I didn’t think it was a shoe-in to ever have the chance again. But then I got another opportunity, and if I did not win, I would have to have had to take a step back, look at myself as a whole and make some changes, because what I have been doing, it isn’t something that wasn’t getting things done.”

The Cenation is rejoicing today, and rightfully so. John Cena was considered the underdog as he headed into his highly anticipated match with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson on April 7 at WrestleMania XXIX, but by the end of the battle, he wasn’t just the winner; he was the new WWE Champion.

And while WWE Superstars are usually known for their (very public) trash talk, Cena kept is classy after besting The Rock. He shook hands with his rival in the center of the ring, and The Rock returned the respect.

The Rock had seemed pretty confident before the match, tweeting, “Its on. Biggest #Wrestlemania of all time. Greatest night of my career.” The People’s Champion even tweeted a picture of himself lacing up for the match, ready to take on Cena.

Of course, this isn’t the first time Cena and The Rock have come face-to-face at Wrestlemania…

Just last year, the titans clashed at Wrestlemania XXVIII, which fans believed would be a “once in a lifetime” match. Little did they know, the Superstars would do battle just one year later, with very different results this time.

John Cena actually stopped by HollywoodLife.com last year to talk about his original match against The Rock, but of course, the topic of conversation quickly took a very weird turn.

The story of The Marine 3: Homefront follows a Marine played by Mike “The Miz” Mizanin who must do whatever it takes to save his kidnapped sister and stop a terrorist attack masterminded by a radical militia group. Sounds like a simple action thriller, but the way that Scott Wiper chooses to direct and co-write the film, it provides tons of awesome action, some great heart and just a lot of fun that you don’t often see in action films. Its a pleasant surprise and a great film that you will want to see more then once. And without revealing any spoilers, maybe we can get a Marine 4 film with The Miz, if not that, we will all be seeing more from The Miz in the movie department. He delivers and does the job amazingly well!

Why The Marine 3: Homefront Is Good For Women!

Ashley Bell told HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY her thoughts on why the movie which is action packed would be great for women as well and she made sure to tell us, “Well we have an hour and a half of a greased up Mike! But honestly the heart and the family dynamic between Mike and I and the fact that when I grew up, I loved action movies, they were my favorite movies! I like how it is fun and how it delivers, it is a movie that is so different and present.” “Strong female characters are great to see in film.”

And in a funny moment, The Miz added, “Wait, my boyish good looks aren’t enough!” But the thing to take from this movie, if you like good movies, you’ll like this movie. It is pretty much simple as that!

How The Miz & Scott Wiper Prepared The Miz For The Role Of Jake Carter!

The Miz watched a lot of legendary action films with many actions stars, he told us about his preparation EXCLUSIVELY saying, “Scott (Wiper) prepared me so much, he sent me like 15 movies of different action heroes and how they did certain things, The Good, The Bad, The Ugly with Clint Eastwood showed me that he doesn’t say much, but he is so passionate about it.”

Scott Wiper added, “He latched onto Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid and another big one was Cool Hand Luke, so once I knew that Mike liked Paul Newman, that was the voice and I would look at Paul Newman. Then I got to know Mike more, and when he isn’t doing The Miz, he takes the best parts of that attitude.” “His fans are going to love it, because when you see what he does in this film, it is sober, dramatic and he is completely different in character and look.”

It is just another amazing part of the charity that the WWE Superstars get their hands on and show the world they are doing their part. WWE’s work with global issues is always amazing, and maybe we can all help impact the lives of the less fortunate after learning what the WWE Divas recently have been doing in Rwanda! It is a wonderful cause!

WWE Divas Alicia Fox and Natalya traveled to Rwanda with the United Nations Foundation’s Nothing But Nets campaign, where they have been visiting refugee camps and have helped distribute life-saving bed nets to families there. Alicia Fox and Natalya have met with experts from the United Nations Refugee Agency and are learning about the conflict forcing mothers and children from Democratic Republic of the Congo to flee to safety in Rwanda. They are live blogging the experience, which is great!

The WWE Divas are using their star power while in Rwanda to bring attention to malaria as a global health issue, a disease which kills more than 600,000 people every year. Every 60 seconds, a child dies from malaria. But the WWE Divas believe no child should die from a preventable disease. That’s why the Divas are urging the WWE Universe and people everywhere to help. Insecticide-treated bed nets are a simple, effective way to keep families safe from malaria. It takes just $10 to send a net and save a life!

Alicia Fox Continues To Speak About The Experience By Live Blogging The Trip!

In her own words, she blogged about the experience, please see below her thoughts.

Today I was given a new perspective of happiness and survival. Traveling with the United Nations Foundation’s Nothing But Nets campaign, we were introduced to the people of Nyagatovu Model Village outside Kigali, Rwanda. Currency there is not measured by the dimes in your pocket but your contributions to the community; People are encouraged to stay strong and carry on with responsibilities, from making bio fuel (from cow manure/urine mixed with water), weaving baskets, to gathering firewood. There’s no doubt that these villages are PROUD of what they’ve created and encouraged to grow.

When we pulled up, I was nervous about what we might find. It wasn’t what I expected: 50 joyous women and children in bright yellow and green robes were dancing and singing to greet us – the words they were singing translated to “We will build our country”. It was profound and beautiful; we felt instantly welcomed and unified.

The United Nations Development Program and the Rwandan government are working together to lift the people of Nyagatoyu Village out of poverty. They’re providing houses, helping establish collective farms and cow herds, teaching sustainable living, and giving people the tools to empower and improve their lives. It’s a model that I believe is truly changing the world. I can’t wait to come back and share even more of my experiences with the WWE fans and the rest of the world.

To say I’ve been affected by this trip to Rwanda is an understatement.

Today we visited the Kiziba Refugee Camp, one hundred miles from Kigali. Our visit to this camp only reminded me of how powerful this trip is for me, the WWE, and Nothing But Nets. How did I get so lucky to be able to do this?

I felt like it was a different experience than the Gihembe Refugee camp for the simple reason that I knew more of what to expect. I was nervous the first day because I didn’t know how I would feel seeing so much poverty in one place. I let my guard down, relaxed and let the people guide the way…then magic happened.

We were greeted by a group of women who wanted to perform a ceremonial dance for us. They were so excited to show us how beautiful, feminine and talented they are. Their gift was their dance. They also wanted us to dance with them… So we did.

Alicia Fox, my fellow Diva, who got to share this journey with me, ended up getting very emotional over the strong presence of these amazing women. I knew when I saw the tears rolling down her cheeks that I had to be as strong as I could possibly be. I smiled extra hard to hide the pain I felt in their eyes. It ended up hitting me later on that day when I had a moment to myself. In a great way, the women celebrated Alicia’s emotion and felt more connected to her and to us than we could have ever imagined.

One of the top WWE Superstars is John Cena and his slogan is “you can’t see me.” We taught the children today how to make his waving hand gesture across their faces because we wanted to remind them that they can be seen and that they aren’t invisible. We see them plain as day and hear them loud and clear!

So HollywoodLifers, This is pretty spectacular stuff, when you have the chance to make a difference, make sure that you follow in the WWE’s footsteps!

Glenn Beck picked a fight that he can’t win, trying to reach a fan base of millions of WWE fans and calling them stupid, which is like saying fish don’t swim in water, it’s just not true!

WWE Invites Glenn Beck To Appear On Monday Night Raw

WWE recently extended an invitation to talk show host and political commentator, Glenn Beck to appear live on last nights Monday Night Raw, in response to a segment that attempted to bash the WWE and their fans that aired on TheBlaze TV. In the segment, Beck refers to WWE as “stupid wrestling people,” when criticizing a recent WWE storyline, involving WWE characters Heavyweight Champion Alberto Del Rio, Jack Swagger and Zeb Colter. WWE gave Beck the opportunity to address WWE’s 14 million weekly viewers and their global fan base, as Glen believed that “conservative” fans were being demeaned with the storyline.

The WWE’s Response To Glenn Beck’s Wrestling Insult

Similar to other television shows and feature films, WWE is in the entertainment business, creating fictional characters that serve as protagonists or antagonists. It isn’t rocket science, it’s entertaining and fun! They create compelling and relevant content to their audience, and it is obviously important to incorporate current events into the storylines. WWE created an amazing rivalry centered on a topical subject that has varying points of view. The storyline was developed to build the Mexican American character, Del Rio, into a hero, given WWE’s large Latino base, which represents 20 percent of the WWE’s audience.

Glenn Beck has since declined WWE’s invitation to address the fans live or on tape, in response to the previously mentioned segment that aired on TheBlaze last week where Beck referenced WWE as “stupid wrestling people.”

Glenn decided against visiting the WWE, so the WWE went to him and his Texas based studios, what is hilarious is the scrambling that is done on Beck’s people to get the WWE away from the building. Check out the video below!

WrestleMania is more than just a one day event, it’s a week-long celebration.
