Drew Barrymore had quite a year in 2012 — she married art consultant Will Kopelman in June, and gave birth to their first child on Sept. 26 — but the Charlie’s Angels actress revealed to Good Housekeeping magazine that she is more concerned about being a healthy mom than getting back in beach-ready shape!

Even though Drew showed up to fiend Kimberley Snyder‘s Glow juice bar opening in Los Angeles on Nov. 14 looking amazing less than two months after welcoming daughter Olive Kopelman, the actress and producer said losing the baby weight is still a work in progress.

“I’m still working on it, but I’m not worrying about it. We live in a society where everyone’s like, ‘Look at how amazing she looks two weeks out [from giving birth].’ I don’t want to be on that hamster wheel; that’s hell,” she said in Good Housekeeping‘s February issue.

“I’m never going to have the kind of body that makes me excited about bikini season. I’ve never had a ‘beach body.’ But I want to feel like I’m showing up and doing my best. My goal is to be nice to myself, gentle toward myself, during this process. It’s such a sacred time,” Drew added.

“My favorite thing about being a mom is just what a better person it makes you on a daily basis,” she told the magazine.

“Every morning when I wake her up, the endgame is, ‘can I get her to smile?’ And that puts me in a good mood. It’s definitely a different way to live — and a much better one,” the new mom added.

How sweet! We think Drew looks amazing, and is already doing a great job of being a mom!

Drew Barrymore had a pretty rough childhood as a child actor. So with her daughter Olive Barrymore Kopelman – her first child with husband Will Kopelman — the actress and producer, 37, wanted to do things right.

“I’m ready to be the best parent I can be,” she told People. “As life gets shorter, the stakes get higher. And this is the most important thing I will ever do.”

She gushed about her daughter to the magazine, and said that while it is the most amazing experience in her life, she is also terrified.

“You’re facing the biggest fear of ‘how do I keep someone alive?’” she told the magazine.

But the first-time parents are excited to begin their journey together — and Drew is eager to have a strong, solid family bond

“Will’s a great dad and a good husband. I really wanted a wonderful, traditional home for my kid. Will comes from a strong family, he provides a strong family, it’s amazing,” she gushed. “For people who didn’t have the strongest families or traditional families, if you can create that, you have a second chance. It just makes me so emotional because it’s like a miracle.”

The best moment of her life

Drew is incredibly accomplished in her professional life, but none of that compares to the happiness and excitement she felt when she first met her daughter on Sept. 26.

“It [was] positively the best moment of my life,” she said. “My husband took  a picture, and I have that picture now forever, and it’s the coolest moment of my life, bar none. I look at it every day.”

Sounds like Drew and Will are so excited to be parents — and we don’t blame them! Olive looks so sweet and happy, just like her mom!

Drew Barrymore can now add “mom” to her impressive resume! The actress and producer welcomed her first baby on Sept. 26, a girl named Olive Barrymore Kopelman.

She and husband Will Kopelman, who began dating in 2010 and married on June 2, are beyond thrilled.

“We are proud to announce the birth of our daughter, Olive Barrymore Kopelman, born September 26th, healthy, happy and welcomed by the whole family,” the couple said in a statement to Us Weekly. ”Thank you for respecting our privacy during this most special time in our lives.”

The actress told Jay Leno on the Tonight Show taping in February that she can’t wait to have a family with Will.

“We’ll start with one,” she said. “See how it goes and if we could be so blessed . . . that would be wonderful.”

Drew Barrymore married fiance Will Kopelman on Jun. 2, in an intimate ceremony in the backyard of her Montecito home, where the star turned to Chanel’s Karl Lagerfeld to craft the dress she wore on her special day. Turning to the infamous designer was a no-brainer — especially since her fiance’s father, Arie Kopelman, is the former CEO of the fashion house! “All I know is that I wanted something tasteful and timeless.”

The star told People magazine. Drew attended multiple fittings in Paris and LA before Karl began crafting the pleated muslin and organza gown, complete with an embroidered skirt made of tulle and feathers and a black satin belt. Later on in the evening, the star who is expecting her first child, covered up in a black tweed jacket to keep warm. Since Drew’s father, John, died in 2004, the bride was escorted down the aisle by her groom’s father and was wed in a traditional Jewish ceremony in front of close friends, including a star-studded celeb set! Drew’s bestie, Cameron Diaz, was in attendance along with Reese Witherspoon, Jimmy Fallon, Steven Spielberg and Scarlett Johansson.

Aside from the dress, Drew was dripping in bling! The star wore Chanel fine jewelry, including the Fil de Camelia earrings made of 1.42 carats of diamonds set in white gold. She also wore a vintage Eventail cuff from the brand’s Plume collection, made up of 14 carats in white and black diamonds. She finished the look with a traditional veil.

“She wanted something traditional,” a source said. “Even though there are things about her that are very modern, it’s an old-world tradition she wanted to have.” While she opted for a traditional veil, she was a total flower child with her bouquet! While cherry blossoms are her fave flower, since they are out of season she carried pink peonies, pink garden roses and pink spray roses by Velvet Garden.

Readings from the groom’s sister, author Jill Kargman and Drew’s close friend Cameron Diaz added nice touches to the special ceremony. Cameron read an E.E. Cumming poem, while Jill read from The Velveteen Rabbit.

“They’re both huge foodies, so the menu was really important to them,” event planner Yifat Oren said. For appetizers, chefs Jon Shook and Vinny Dotolo from LA’s Animal and Son of a Gun restaurants served up lobster rolls and pork bons, while Top Chef Masters alum Naomi Pomeroy, (a friend of Drew’s), crafted foie gras on pink peppercorn shortbread and steak tartare with quail egg. Drew continued the floral theme of the evening with ice cubes that had pansy flowers frozen inside. Wines from Drew’s own wine label, Barrymore Wines, were served.

Guests feasted on a family-style dinner catered by Lucques restaurant, where they enjoyed fried chicken and steak — and Drew’s bridesmaids roasted the mom-to-be! “That’s when I laughed the hardest,” she told the mag. “Everything they said was deadly accurate, but it was all in such a good spirit.”

For their first dance, the newlyweds opted for “No One’s Gonna Love You” by Band of Horses. Guests danced the night away to ’80s cover band the Spazmatics and feasted on more late-night food from Escuela Taqueria and the Santa Barbara food truck the Burger Bus. After 1:30AM, the couple exited to the Beatles “I Will” before driving off in the night in a classic Mercedes convertible adorned with pink roses. “Drew and Will would not stop kissing,” a source said. “They looked super happy.”

Drew Barrymore has married her soon-to-be baby daddy, art consultant Will Kopelman!

The pair tied the knot under a chuppah on June 2 in front of family and friends at her Montecito, Calif. estate, PEOPLE reports. A rabbi officiated the ceremony!

The ceremony was “a classic, simple, very pretty, garden-inspired wedding,” designed by celebrity wedding planners Yifat Oren and and Stefanie Cove. Drew, 37, donned a wedding gown by Chanel, most likely due to the fact that her new husband’s father, Arie Kopelman, is a former Chanel CEO!

The couple started dating in early 2011 and announced their engagement this January. It has been reported in recent weeks that Drew is pregnant with a baby girl.

Drew was previously married to bar owner Jeremy Thomas for a month in 1994 and to comedian Tom Green for less than a year in 2001!

The evening before the ceremony, the couple enjoyed an A-list rehearsal dinner at Montecito’s San Ysidro Ranch. Guests included Cameron Diaz, Jimmy Fallon and his wife (and Drew’s business partner) Nancy Juvonen, Busy Philipps and her husband!

It’s official — Drew Barrymore, 36, will walk down the aisle with a baby bump! She and art consultant beau Will Kopelman have chosen a date and location for their nuptials, and it’s right around the corner.

The mommy and daddy to-be will tie the knot on June 2 at her Montecito, California estate, E! News reports.

How romantic!

Will, 34, proposed to Drew in December 2011 while the couple vacationed in Sun Valley, Idaho. That’s not a very long engagement, so we wonder if they moved up the wedding to get hitched before the little one arrives!

Wearing flats and a comfy T-shirt, the actress stopped by a yoga class before heading to the market with a friend. This will be the first child for the 36-year-old.

This would be Drew’s first child, and we think she’d be a great mom! The actress who stars in the new flick, Big Miracle, got engaged to Will, an art consultant, in Sun Valley, Idaho, this past January.

Drew has been spotted wearing much looser fitting clothing as of late — another indication that she could be with child!

This will be Drew’s third marriage — she was married to Tom Green in 1999 and then to Jeremy Thomas in 1994.
