“It’s Time” couldn’t have been a more appropriate title for Weeds‘ series finale, which aired Sept. 16 on Showtime. After eight seasons of selling pot, smuggling weapons, and God knows what else, Nancy Botwin (Mary-Louise Parker) and her merry band of hemp lovers have earned themselves a long retirement. But before the characters peaced out forever, we were given a long glimpse into their distant futures — and it was quite the trip.

Here’s a quick recap of the biggest events that went down — or rather, will go down — in Nancy’s future:

>> A once-again-widowed Nancy receives an offer from Starbucks to buy her chain of weed cafés, and after a nudge from Andy (Justin Kirk), she agrees go ahead and sell — as if she knows how to do anything else.

>> Oh, did I mention Andy has a baby with another woman? If you were hoping he and Nancy would finally hook up on the finale, you were probably pretty bummed.

>> Shane (Alexander Gould) becomes a cop. And an alcoholic. I’m not sure in which order, but he definitely becomes both.

>> Silas (Hunter Parrish) reunites with and marries his deaf ex-girlfriend, Megan, and they have a baby girl.

>> Doug (Kevin Nealon) develops a massive following of disciples, all clad in purple jumpsuits. And just to make sure the finale includes every character ever, he also reaches out to his estranged son Josh.

Congratulations are in order for Sabrina the Teenage Witch star Lindsay Sloane! After debuting her baby bump last summer, the 34-year-old actress gave birth to daughter Maxwell Lue on Jan. 19. This is the first child for Sloane and her hubby, Dar Rollins, an agent.

“We thought we knew what love was until we met her,” the couple said in an exclusive statement to People.

Sloane, who counts Sarah Michelle Gellar among her nearest and dearest, recently had an arc on Showtime’s Weeds. She is also known for her role as nasty cheerleading coach Big Red in Bring It On.

What a wonderful way to kick off the New Year! We couldn’t be happier for the first-time parents!

I love the first two seasons of Weeds, but lately I feel as though I’ve been watching it out of a sense of devotion for bygone years. As the June 27 season 7 opener begins, Nancy Botwin (Mary-Louise Parker) and her family’s exploits have grown more and more ludicrous — and it’s been hard to identify with a woman who can just sleep her way out of the most dire situation. But luckily, this season starts with a shocking jolt the series could use to get fresh again. Some big SPOILERS from the first episode lie ahead!

Skipping over Nancy’s stint in jail, the premiere jumps three years to Nancy’s release and reintroduction to society by moving to New York in a halfway house. During the course of the episode, Nancy has a sensual lesbian relationship and strips in front of a random man — somewhat par for the promiscuous mama. Not far behind is her makeshift family unit, holed up in Copenhagen — her brother-in-law Andy (Justin Kirk), tormented son Silas (Hunter Parrish) and his troubled, murderous little brother Shane (Alexander Gould). It wouldn’t be Weeds without the antics, and season 7 is full of them already — Andy is a tour guide, Silas is a sexy model and Shane, curiously enough, is breaking up with an older woman with whom he apparently has a marionette act. We don’t know what’s funnier — the fact that Shane’s a puppeteer or his sleazy sideburns!

By the time Nancy picks up a suitcase full of weaponry, not much has happened outside of catching up with what the characters have been up to through the last few years. But that is good enough to send the plot in a positive direction. Who knows what the season will hold for this dysfunctional family, but one question remains — does anyone care about Doug (Kevin Nealon)?

Nancy Botwin (Mary-Louise Parker) may have spent the past three years in prison, but don’t expect to see the iced-coffee fiend emerge a changed woman when Weeds returns for its seventh season. “She’s emotionally unscathed,” Mary-Louise says of Nancy, who finally gets released on tonight’s premiere. “She’s affected, but not wildly rearranged.”

In fact, aside from Shane (Alexander Gould) growing out a ridiculous pair of mutton chops, it doesn’t look like any of the Botwins have undergone too many changes while the marijuana mama was behind bars. Which is good, because I couldn’t handle a season without Andy (Justin Kirk) cooking up schemes and Silas (Hunter Parrish) brooding in the corner. It just wouldn’t feel like Weeds!

We spoke to the talented mom-of-two at the NYC premiere of her new action flick Red, and she told us her kiddies got so upset as they watched her leave for her big night!

No more wild nights for Mary-Louise Parker! The 47-year-old actress might be glam from head-to-toe on red carpets but she runs straight home to put her two kids, William, 6, and Caroline, 3, to bed! Mary-Louise spoke to HollyBaby.com at the NYC premiere of her new film, Red, hosted by The Cinema Society & OC Concept at the MOMA on Oct. 3. We asked her how she manages to juggle a busy career and two kids, and it turns out it’s just as hard for a Hollywood mom as it is for the rest of us!

“When I was trying to leave tonight, my son was looking at me as the elevator doors were closing and he was screaming ‘DON’T GO!’” she told us. “It’s hard sometimes. I’m not going to the after party tonight, I give up a lot, but my kids come first.”

Mary-Louise, who also stars in the hit Showtime series Weeds, opted for something “different” when she took on the role of Sarah, a woman kidnapped by former CIA agent Bruce Willis, in Red, a hilarious, action-packed flick.

“It was different from anything I’ve ever done. It was eccentric enough and had some kid of levity,” she said. “I felt like if I was going to do this kind of a movie, this would be the one to do. And Bruce, he has that kind of appeal… that sexual… he has it in life and on screen… something you can’t describe, this ineffable thing.”

After the film’s premiere, the rest of the cast — including Helen Mirren, Morgan Freeman, John Malkovich, Ernest Borgnine and Bruce Willis — headed over to NYC’s Lambs Club at the Chatwal Hotel, where they partied the night away, sans Mary-Louise, who was at home tucking her little ones into bed!
