Kate Middleton may have a title and a palace, but the burgeoning fashion plate cannot hold a candle to the queen of cool, Ms. Kate Moss. In no way was this more evident than the wildly different, though equally lavish, weddings the two women had. London may be a large city, but there is only room for one Kate!

As the photos above show, Kate’s wedding seemed like the party to be at July 1. Whereas the royal wedding brought new meaning to the terms stiff and stuffy, Kate’s three day affair, dubbed Mosstock, seemed to be a complete blast. Guests like Marc Jacobs, Jude Law, Anna Wintour, Stefano Pilati, Sadie Frost, Jack White, Alison Mosshart, Kelly Osbourne, Mario Testino, Jade Jagger, Stella McCartney, Paul McCartney, Naomi Campbell … it may just be easier to list who wasn’t there!

Kate and Prince William may be the couple every prim and proper schoolgirl admires most, but for the vagrants in the back of the class it doesn’t get much better than Kate and Jamie Hince. Because who needs a horse drawn carriage when a transvestite is sky high heels is escorting you to your seat at a country wedding.

Also, as gorgeous as Ms. Middleton looked on her big day, no one is ever going to take a better picture or be a more beautiful bride than Ms. Moss.

Is it bad manners to invite your ex to your nuptials?

Reese Witherspoon is going to the chapel and going to get married…for a second time. But when the Water For Elephants weds agent Jim Toth in Ojai, Calif. March 26, one very important person won’t be present: ex-husband (and baby daddy) Ryan Phillippe. Should Reese have invited Ryan, or is sending an invitation indicating she’s officially moved on improper etiquette?

Although we can’t possibly know what goes on behind closed doors, to the naked eye, Reese and Ryan have a completely civil relationship. Although they’ve been divorced for four years, they were married for eight and have two children together, Ava and Deacon. One would think they could play nicely.

Except, they aren’t. When the Southern belle ties the knot for a second time this weekend, her ex won’t be present…because she didn’t invite him! But should she have?

The simple answer to this question is: YES. I think it’s actually a bit odd that Reese, who, as a good Southern gal always does the right and proper thing, didn’t invite her ex-husband. It isn’t as if, four years later, Ryan is still pining for her. He is still part of her extended family, at the end of the day, and an invitation would have been courteous. Obviously, he wouldn’t have had to accept, but the gesture of good intentions would still have been there.

My advice doesn’t just apply for celebrities. If you ever find yourself in a similar situation and the guy didn’t do something truly horrible to you (like cheat), it keeps the peace. Mind, this sort of situation only applies if you have kids. If you’re not friends with an ex and have nothing binding you together, clearly don’t bother inviting him to the wedding — that just looks like sour grapes! But if you do see him on a regular basis, or you’re friendly, or you have children, you should at least extend the invite requesting his presence when you say, ‘I do’ again.

The worst (or best, depending on how you look at it) your ex can do would be to decline, but that’s all on him. At least you’ll be secure in the knowledge that you’ve done the appropriate thing — just as you’ll be secure that YOU are the one who’s moved on and found love again.

This overpopulation of celebrity brides is enough to make us wonder who will outshine, out-plan, and just plain out-bride the rest! Consider the candidates and cast your vote!

Valerie Bertinelli just turned 50 this month (can you believe it?) and now the Jenny Craig spokeswoman is getting ready to celebrate another milestone, a wedding to her long time love, businessman Tom Vitale.

Vitale, 48, proposed on a romantic trip to Florence. The couple have been together for 6 years. “We’d talked about getting married, but I was still shocked. It was sweet when he asked me, because he was so scared. I was like, ‘Are you kidding me?’” Valerie told AARP magazine for their upcoming July/August issue.

The wedding is set for this fall. Valerie, currently starring in the TV Land show Hot in Cleveland , says she’s leaving the planning all up to Vitale. “He already knows the different kinds of bells he wants to go off during the ceremony,” she said

Valerie, who has struggled with her weight her entire life, has lost more than 40 lbs since signing on as a Jenny Craig spokeswoman in 2007. She credits being with Tom for encouraging her to continue losing weight and staying healthy.

“I’ve never felt more beautiful at any weight than when Tom looks at me,” she said. “He loved me no matter what. In his way, he’s teaching me to love myself just as I am.”

This will be Valerie’s second marriage. She was previously married to rocker Eddie Van Halen, with whom she has a 19-year-old son Wolfie.

A source close to Lindsay tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY, “Kate and Michael asked them to be bridesmaids in the wedding.” But … does Michael realize that Lindsay doesn’t talk to him? She even told Us Magazine, in reaction to the engagement news, “I’m gonna’ vomit.”
