Bio:
Tyler Sash (born Tyler Sash in Oskaloosa, Iowa on May 27, 1988) was a NFL football player for the New York Giants. Tyler played Safety for the 2011-2012 New York Giants team who won Super Bowl XLVl in 2012. Before being drafted as 198th pick in the 6th round of the NFL Draft of 2011, Tyler played safety for the Hawkeyes at University of Iowa. Tyler skipped his senior season to enter the draft. In July 2012, Tyler was suspended four games by the NFL for testing positive for Adderall, a drug he claimed he took for anxiety but was listed on the leagues list of banned substances. Tyler said in a statement that he used the drug “under a doctor’s care.” Tyler was cut from the Giants on Aug. 31, 2013. He passed away tragically on Sept. 18, 2015 in his Oskaloosa, Iowa home. He was 27. The autopsy report stated that it was a mixture of drugs that killed Tyler. Five months after his death his parents released the results of tests on his brain confirming that Tyler was suffering from Stage 2 Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy, a degenerative brain disease associated with professional football players that can only be confirmed postmortem.

His amazing 2009 year as a Hawkeye when he led the Big Ten with six interceptions, three of them coming in one game against Iowa State.
Personal Life:
Tyler used his NFL money to start a charity in his home state of Iowa. He started GBNB, or Get Better Not Bitter, a group to help Christian student athletes.
