With her boyfriend gone, and her purpose in Mystic Falls seemingly fulfilled, many fans are wondering WTF Meredith (Torrey DeVitto) will be up to on The Vampire Diaries this season. I went straight to Torrey for the answer, and she assured HollywoodLife.com that Dr. Fell will have her hands full — especially with Damon (Ian Somerhalder).

It’s pretty much Meredith’s fault that Elena is a vampire. Will there be backlash?

Here’s what I’ve been saying, and I really do stand by this: I think Meredith should be getting praised for this! People don’t realize there would be no more Vampire Diaries if Meredith hadn’t saved Elena’s life. She’d be dead! I think we should all acknowledge that.

You’re right. They should really change it to The Meredith Diaries.

You know, what? I’m going to have a talk with Julie Plec about that later today.

Speaking of Julie, she recently said Meredith would be a “stabilizing force” for Damon this season. Can you elaborate?

I think you’ll see a bond grow between Damon and Meredith. It’s cool because he’s this erratic character, and she really holds her ground with him and with all the other characters. She’s strong-minded and doesn’t put up with his bulls**t. So deep down, whether he acknowledges it or not, he admires that about her. That’s how their friendship begins, really.

And what about her personal life? What, or who, will she do now that Alaric is gone?

Well, let’s hope her relationship past doesn’t mirror Alaric’s. He had a terrible relationship track. I think Meredith’s really focused on her work right now. She loves helping people, so I think she’ll devote more of her time to that. She feels totally just in using vampire blood, as long as she’s really saving someone’s life. She’s a strong, independent woman. She’s not thinking about men.

Will she get mixed up with any of the new characters, or stick to the ones we know?

As of now, she’s keeping to the ones we know, but we’re not even halfway through shooting the season. I don’t even think [the writers] know at this point!

True. I remember the last time we spoke, you said you flip to the end of every script to make sure Meredith’s still alive.

Oh, I still do. But I think Julie heard me say that, so she promised that before I die, she’ll warn me.

If you’re a true Vampire Diaries fan, you’ve probably already seen this disturbing picture of a bloody Torrey DeVitto laying on the Gilbert’s bathroom floor from the April 12 episode “Break On Through.” But what’s really going on? “It’s kind of inevitable,” Torrey told HollywoodLife.com of Meredith’s death, adding that she literally flips to the back of every new script she gets to see if her character is still alive. “How long can you really last on a crazy, supernatural show? I’m just thankful I’ve lasted this long.”

The official description for the episode makes no mention of Meredith, which only makes this photo of her supposed death all the more shocking. To play Devil’s Advocate, let’s not forget she’s been sleeping with Alaric (Matt Davis), who is in possession of a certain ring that might save her from this predicament.

What the description does reveal, however, is that this episode marks the present-day reunion of Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and foxy boxer Sage (Cassidy Freeman), a meeting which will make things very interesting for Damon’s latest bed buddy Rebekah (Claire Holt). Meanwhile, Abby (Persia White) adjusts to life as a vampire with a little help from Bonnie (Kat Graham) and Caroline (Candice Accola), and Elena (Nina Dobrev) continues to bring Stefan (Paul Wesley) “closer to his humanity.”

Melissa Hastings (Torrey DeVitto) is in for a shock when she returns to Rosewood on the Feb. 20 episode of Pretty Little Liars! After all, she does have a new half-brother (who she may have also made out with) waiting for her at home. But is a trip to the delivery room also on her agenda? ”That’s a question I would like answered,” Torrey told HollywoodLife.com, hinting that Melissa won’t be losing that baby bump anytime soon. “As much as I love wearing that pregnant belly, I’m curious myself.”

Maybe it’s better that Melissa isn’t giving birth yet. At least it’ll give her time to patch things up with Auntie Spencer (Troian Bellisario).

“I think it always goes back and forth,” Torrey says of the Hastings sisters’ tumultuous relationship. “But when they are on the up-and-up, you have to wonder: Is this genuine? Is this really going to last, or are they only being nice because they need something from each other? You can’t trust the Hastings family; even the parents are sneaky little devils.”

But no matter what happens to Melissa, Torrey says she’s just happy to be along for the ride.

“When I first read the pilot, I thought, ‘This is different,’” Torrey says. “‘I normally play psychos, but this girl is just this perfect straight-A student.’ And then, the more the scripts when on, I realized she’s absolutely insane. She has so many layers and skeletons, and the relationship between her and her sister is always so emotional. I would never want to be a part of their family in real life.”

Torrey DeVitto has a little ritual she does every time she gets a new Vampire Diaries script: ”I flip through really fast to see: Am I dead yet? No? OK, great, I’ll start from the beginning now.” But as one of the only fully human characters remaining on the show, she knows her days are numbered. “It’s kind of inevitable,” she tells HollywoodLife.com. “How long can I really last on this crazy, supernatural show? I’m just thankful I’ve lasted this long.”

Dating Alaric (Matt Davis) certainly isn’t helping Meredith’s chances of surviving in Mystic Falls — let’s not forget what happened about to Jenna (Sara Canning) and Isobel (Mia Kirshner) — but Torrey doesn’t care. She’s fully behind Meredith and Alaric’s rapidly evolving romance.

“I think there’s consequences to every relationship on this show,” she admits. “There are so many components mess them up. It’s hard to maintain a normal, healthy relationship. But I think their relationship is building in a cool way. I like these characters together, I think they work really well. I’m always excited to see where they’re going next.”

And as long as there’s breath in Meredith’s lungs, Torrey says we’ll continue to find out more surprises about her character.

“She’s got her secrets, and there’s a lot of stuff that’s about to come to a head,” Torrey says. You’ll start to learn more and more about her every episode. Her being a Fell will definitely play into the drama. She’s a really cool, strong, straightforward character that I really like to portray.”

She also likes the changes that Kevin Williamson and Julie Plec have made to her character, who was very different in L.J. Smith‘s original Vampire Diaries books.

“I actually auditioned for the pilot, and when Paul [Wesley] booked it, I went to Borders and bought the whole series,” she recalls. “It was so long ago that I didn’t remember specifics about Meredith, but I did remember her. She’s definitely different on the show, and that’s why I didn’t revisit the books. I didn’t want to get conflicted views in my head.”

Tell your friends! Tell your neighbors! This news is too awesome not to share. Paul Wesley‘s real-life wife Torrey DeVitto is joining The Vampire Diaries later this season as a doctor interested in Alaric’s (Matt Davis) apparent self-healing abilities. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Torrey will pop up on the show’s 10th and 11th episode this season, with a strong chance she’ll be sticking around longer.

Of course, this isn’t the first time someone has split their time between Rosewood and Mystic Falls. Bianca Lawson started on The Vampire Diaries as the ghost of Emily Bennett before joining Pretty Little Liars as Emily’s first girlfriend, Maya. And then there’s Claire Holt, who originally played Emily’s girlfriend Samara on Pretty Little Liars, and joined The Vampire Diaries this season as Rebekah (aka “Barbie Klaus.”)

Happy dances all-around! This is fantastic news.

We’re just seven days away from the premiere of the Pretty Little Liars Halloween special, and as someone fortunate enough to have seen it (three times), I promise you it has everything a PLL fan could possibly want:

Hefty Hanna returns: The episode takes place a full year before the events of season one, so Hanna (Ashley Benson) is fully stuffed and ready to strut her plus-sized stuff through the streets of Rosewood. God, I missed that waddle.

Jenna isn’t just crazy — she’s also crazy-hot: Yes, it appears that before her sight was taken from her in that tragic fire, Rosewood’s creepiest floutist had a bit of a slutty streak. This episode really makes me hope Jenna (Tammin Sursok) gets her sight back. Her death-stares would bring the ladies of Revenge to their knees — and that’s really saying something.

New ‘A’ suspects: I promise that once this special is over, you’re going to think everyone in Rosewood is “A.” The characters in this episode caused me to raise my eyebrows so high, they’re not even on my face anymore. I look like Voldemort now. (Thanks, ABC Family.)

So many tears: Halloween may be a time for tricks, but in Rosewood, it’s also a time for drama. From Spencer (Troian Bellisario) to Aria (Lucy Hale) to Mr. Montgomery (Chad Lowe), nearly everyone sheds a tear or two at some point during the episode. Who knows, YOU might even need to keep a box of tissues handy, yourself!

Dramatic foreshadowing: If only the good people of Rosewood knew then what they know now. With lines like “Someday she’ll get what’s coming for her” and “If I told you that, I’d have to kill you” longtime fans will be rewarded for their faithful viewing all night.

Wren’s appearance in the final moments of last week’s Pretty Little Liars sent fans into a frenzy, as they wondered what new, shady business he had with Melissa (Torrey DeVitto) in Rosewood. HollywoodLife.com recently chatted with Wren himself, Julian Morris, and he confirmed that Wren’s return will “shake things up a hell of a lot.” But will be try to get back with Spencer (Troian Bellisario)?

That’s the question on every fan’s mind — they’ve already started calling the couple “Wrencer” on Twitter — and Julian was more than happy to weigh in on the big debate:

“Does Wren have feelings for Spencer? It’s very, very likely,” Julian says. “His last scene last season was him inviting Spencer into a motel room with him!” As for the “Wrencer” nickname, Julian thinks “that’s awesome,” and despite being a big fan of Toby (Keegan Allen), he says, “I’m on Team Wrencer!”

What Julian can say about Wren in season two is that “he’s now a resident at Rosewood General [Hospital], so he’s going to be around.”

But for how long, exactly, Julian doesn’t know.

“It’s up in the air,” he tells us. “I love playing Wren and I love being back on the show, so I hope his storyline continues. But who knows what the writers have in store for him?”
