Ben’s rep tells HollywoodLife.com that Ben can’t decide whether it’s a ‘compliment’ or the ‘ultimate repudiation’ — but he thinks they chose the wrong film!

Ben Affleck is a bit confused … and so are we! The actor, who is currently in Turkey working on his upcoming film Argo, learned that House Republicans were using a scene from his 2010 film The Town to encourage members to “back” Speaker John Boehner‘s debt ceiling plan.

“I don’t know if this is a compliment or the ultimate repudiation,” Ben’s rep tells us on his behalf. “But if they’re going to be watching movies, I think The Company Men is more appropriate.”

Ben is referring to his other 2010 hit about a man who loses his job and has to struggle to support his family during the recession.

This is similar to when Tom Petty threatened legal action when Michele Bachmann used his 1977 hit “American Girl.”

Maybe the republican party should ask before “borrowing” these pieces of art for their political agenda?

Your reps claim the pics are fake, but just roll with it — you’ve got the best body in the world!

The biggest scandal in Hollywood this week has been the leak of alleged nude photos of Blake Lively. Blake’s lawyers have fired back, saying these pics are not really her — despite obvious evidence to the contrary. I say just own the pics, Blake — you’re so hot and these naked shots certainly illustrate that!

The only upsetting thing I see about this scandal is the fact that no one is appreciating just how attractive Blake is in these pictures. I mean, it’s ridiculous. Just look at her! Seriously!

I’ve only seen bits and pieces of Blake, 23, in Gossip Girl and pretty much forgot she was in the Oscar-nominated film The Town. But with these super-sexy pics, she’s DEFINITELY back on my radar.

Personally, I don’t understand why Blake should be so shy and dismissive of this leak. Sure, it’s a bummer these pics came out in the first place. But now that they’re out there, she should just admit it and say, “Look — I made an awful mistake, but let’s be honest here. Ladies — I’m so hot that you should aspire to be me. And guys — I’m way more attractive than your girlfriend. So just appreciate the fact that my glorious body has been disseminated for your perusal.”

If anything, these pictures simply prove Blake’s new boyfriend Leonardo DiCaprio is a lucky, lucky guy.

Chloe stars as a child runaway in this grim new movie, with Blake playing her drug-addicted ‘mentor!’ HollywoodLife.com has the script!

Blake Lively‘s new movie Hick, directed by Derick Martini, is not for the faint of heart. Warning: Major spoilers ahead!

So here’s what happens, in brief –

The film, a world away from Gossip Girl territory, centers around Luli (Chloe Moretz, 14) a girl who is given a gun for her 13th birthday in the first scene. Things quickly get darker as Luli runs away from home and meets Blake’s character Glenda, a 28-year-old meth addict with a troubled past. On the way she encounters Eddie, played by Eddie Redmayne, a man with a limp who seems “kind of off.” The mayhem really begins once the characters intersect …

The script’s most shocking moments are many — here’s just a few — don’t read on if you don’t want to know!

• Both girls curse, especially 13-year-old Luli, who drops the F-bomb multiple times.
• Luli suffers a horrible assault — we don’t want to give too much away, or too graphically.
• Glenda carries meth around in her purse and gives it to Luli to try to make sure she’s doing it with someone who won’t try anything X-rated.

The movie tackles some pretty intense issues with rape, drug use, and the loss of innocence. Glenda’s character is tortured but endearing and slightly similar to Blake’s character in The Town. Luli (Chloe) reads as a very bright child who is coming of age in a neglectful home, the kind of girl you want to gather up and protect from all of the indecencies she experiences in the movie. Eddie’s character seems charming at first but the darkness that lies beneath is terrifying.

Blake Lively is continuing to exercise her acting chops with the news that her next film, Hick, will have the young actress playing a meth addict with a 13-year-old daughter! Blake told a reporter on the red carpet at the Elle Style Awards in London that her new role has her going in an entirely different direction! “It’s completely different. I play the mother of a 13-year-old … Southern woman … also a meth addict. It’s pretty different.” We’ll say!

Blake already wowed critics with her portrayal of a, wait for it, drug addicted single mother in Ben Affleck‘s latest film The Town. This is one actress who is clearly trying to break free of her Gossip Girl mold.

Blake will have a huge support system in the form of the uber talented Chloe Moretz, who will play her daughter in the film!

It is that time once again — Oscar nominations are almost out! This award season has seen much love for The Social Network, Natalie Portman in Black Swan and Colin Firth‘s performance in The King’s Speech, but there are a few more actors and films that may sneak in at the Oscars!

The Academy Award ballot is ranked, meaning though some performances or films don’t get as many votes they can still win based on more 1 or 2 rankings. This should almost surely bode well for Blue Valentine performers Ryan Gosling and Michelle Williams, and, in what would be the biggest surprise of the morning, the film as well we think.

Also benefiting from this we think will be John Hawkes, snagging Mark Ruffalo‘s spot in supporting actor, and Jacki Weaver, who will do the same to Mila Kunis based on her amazing performance in Animal Kingdom.

The Town co-stars kept their distance at the National Board of Review gala, perhaps because Jen Garner was there to keep an eye on her hubby!

Adding fuel to the rumor mill fire last night were Blake Lively and Ben Affleck, who both attended the National Board of Review of Motion Pictures Gala in NYC but did not pose together for photos. Jennifer Garner was also in attendance to support Ben and perhaps keep tabs on the competition.

It would have been standard procedure for The Town co-stars to say cheese for the red carpet photogs but instead they purposefully kept their distance. That only makes us wonder if B&B are trying a little too hard to quash the reports that they got a little too cosy on the set of their gritty thriller, forcing Jen to make more set visits than she might if Ben was starring alongside Rob Schneider.

The pair’s infamously flirty banter for Interview magazine, back in September 2010 coupled with their intimate behind-the-scenes photos taken while filming The Town, made for much speculation as to whether they’d had an affair. We’ll see how the chemistry between Blake and Ben progresses throughout awards season, but Gossip Girl would most definitely have something to say about the new B in Jen’s bonnet.

The ‘Gossip Girl’ star, and muse to most every enviable designer, has been appointed an ambassador for the luxurious French fashion house — and their latest model!

She stars in the hit show Gossip Girl, has the much anticipated film The Green Lantern on the horizon, will almost surely be making the awards show rounds with her film The Town, and now, the eternally gorgeous and forever busy Blake Lively, can add two more jobs to her ever growing resume — official ambassador and model for Chanel!

The 23-year-old starlet was selected by Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld for her new role and to front the fashion house’s upcoming handbag campaign. “She’s a kind of American dream girl, ” Karl told WWD. “I think she will become a great actress.”

Blake’s sure to be stunning ads will be released in April and were shot at the house’s famed Rue Cambon headquarters in Paris. Karl and Blake were first introduced by another fashion powerhouse, Vogue editor Anna Wintour, during Paris couture week.

So to recap, Blake met Karl through Anna, who made her an ambassador for one of the world’s most chic and timeless fashion houses, and she will now, when not starring in blockbuster and critically acclaimed films, be fronting their new ad campaign. Oh, and did we mention that Christian Louboutin named a shoe after her?
