Following Jane’s death, Cassie (Britt Robertson) was trying to keep from falling apart on the April 26 episode of The Secret Circle. But in a moment of weakness, she couldn’t help kissing Adam (Thomas Dekker), who — judging by the look on his face — didn’t seem to mind all that much. That was my first clue that our young Mr. Conant remembers more about his feelings for Cassie than he was letting on.

Diana (Shelley Hennig), meanwhile, was coming to terms with the discovery of her true paternity. She was clearly finding it hard to be around Cassie at Jane’s wake, and insisted on not telling the rest of the Circle until they knew for sure whether or not she was John Blackwell’s daughter. Being Diana, she came right out and asked Charles (Gale Harold), who admitted he and Diana’s mother had been separated before she got pregnant. Charles assured Diana he was her father no matter what, and told her to stay away from John.

Faye (Phoebe Tonkin) and Jake (Chris Zylka) tried easing the “pain” of Jane’s loss with Dawn’s (Natasha Henstridge) prescription pills, but all they found in the bottle was Faye’s family’s crystal. No, wait, that’s a good thing! Ah, if only things were that simple in real life.

At the abandoned house, John and the others were looking for the remaining crystals, at which point Faye and Jake showed up with the crystal they had found. When Jake informed them it was dead, John told them it could be recharged with the power of the Circle. In the meantime, he sent Chance Harbor’s newest dynamic duo, Adam and Melissa (Jessica Parker Kennedy), to locate Adam’s family’s crystal.

Adam and Melissa headed to the Boathouse, where they bonded over a bottle of booze. Once again, Adam let on that he still loves Cassie. Could it be that he’s been hiding his true feelings all along? Either way, I don’t want them getting back together. I’m so over the whole “written in the stars” thing. Besides, if Jake and Faye didn’t make such a hot couple, I would totally be rooting for Jake and Cassie to get it on. Anyways, by a stroke of luck, Adam remembered the cloaking spell his grandfather used to cast when he was little and uncovered the hiding place of the final crystal.

Back at the abandoned house, Faye’s crystal was stolen using magic, presumably by the traitor helping the witch hunters. The Circle decided to go after it themselves, without John’s help. Aside from Cassie, no one — including Diana — really trusted him. Jake thought to reach out to Isaac, who he believed would have turned on Eben. When the Circle went to rendezvous with Isaac in the woods, Ian — another witch hunter — told them Isaac had been killed by Eben. He also informed them the traitor had run away and was hiding from Eben.

Elsewhere, John paid Dawn a visit and asked her to keep a close eye on Charles, who was planning on leaving town with Diana. For her cooperation, John promised Dawn her powers back. He also revealed his plan to get rid of the elders. It’s clear John is manipulating the Circle to get what he wants, but we’re still not sure what his endgame is.

Finally, the search for Faye’s crystal led the Circle to Hudson Fields, an abandoned amusement park, which might be the creepiest place on earth. (Like Faye, I have a fear of clowns.) There, they discovered the bodies of several witch hunters. Cassie and Diana spotted the traitor running away, so they gave chase. When they finally caught up with him, they were shocked to see it was… Nick! Yes, the same Nick (Louis Hunter) who got possessed by a demon and was drowned by Charles. Unfortunately, he managed to get away before they could get any answers.

It’s been the question on every Secret Circle fan’s mind since the winter finale: Who is Cassie’s (Britt Robertson) half-sibling in the circle? The answer was finally revealed at the very end of the April 19 episode — and it was not who I was expecting.

Despite Faye (Phoebe Tonkin) being positive she was John’s (Joe Lando) daughter for most of the hour, the other Blackwell turned out to be none other than Diana (Shelley Hennig)! Cassie put two and two together after Diana was affected by a spell designed to cripple witches with dark magic.

Personally, I’m just glad the other Blackwell isn’t Adam (Thomas Dekker) or Jake (Chris Zylka). I feel like incest is the final frontier The Secret Circle just isn’t ready to tackle.

I hope Cassie (Britt Robertson) and Adam (Thomas Dekker) enjoyed their first — and potentially final — night together, because it’s pretty much all downhill from here. John (Joe Lando) showed up on Cassie’s doorstep on the March 22 episode of The Secret Circle to clue them into the whole your-love-is-a-curse thing. Cassie tried to play dumb, but John was basically like, “Look, I know you guys had sex last night. Your lawn is covered in dead birds!”

With the cat officially out of the bag, Cassie and Adam paid a visit to sweet/crazy Jane (Ashley Crow) for more information. She confirmed the couple’s fears about the Blake-Conant curse, leading Adam and Cassie to down a special elixir that would make them forget how much they love each other. (Score one for Team Jake!)

And speaking of Jake (Chris Zylka), the golden-haired beauty went a wee bit off-the-rails this week. After waking up with a fever — and a ridiculously small pair of boxers (no complaints) — he started hallucinating, eventually trying to murder Adam and revealing that he killed Calvin.

Meanwhile, Faye (Phoebe Tonkin) was up to her expressive eyebrows in crazy ex-girlfriends. Eva (Alexia Fast) tried to enlist her help in bringing Lee (Grey Damon) back from the dead, but Faye managed to flip the situation around in her favor, allowing her to get back her powers and kick Eva’s ass. Double play! Still, something tells me we haven’t seen the last of that pesky redhead.

OK, now here’s where things got really crazy: A final confrontation between John and Dawn (Natasha Henstridge) revealed that, not only is there no such thing as a Blake-Conant curse, but John made the whole thing up to keep Cassie and the circle safe! Had Ethan and Emilia not fallen in love and tried to run away all those years ago, the circle would have been able to fight off the hunters together.

So now there are really four sides in this war of witches: The circle; the hunters; Dawn and Charles (Gale Harold); and John — because I’m not quite ready to label him a “good guy” yet.

Everyone’s first time is awkward, but can you imagine how much more awkward it would be if a gaggle of pervy birds were watching you do it from above your house? That’s how it was for Cassie (Britt Robertson) and Adam (Thomas Dekker) on the March 15 episode of The Secret Circle when they finally decided to do the dirty — but there’s really much more to the story.

It turns out the old legend about the Blakes and the Conants being “written in the stars” isn’t just destiny. It’s a “curse,” at least according to John (Joe Lando), which would explain why all those peeping ravens were fluttering over Cassie’s house during sexy times — and why they’re found dead on next week’s episode.

But that wasn’t this week’s only major revelation. Though the circlers don’t know it yet, Ethan (Adam Harrington) was actually the one who betrayed the circle and tried to have John killed all those years ago! He claims Amelia wanted John dead so they could be together, you know, because of the curse. Pretty messed up if you ask me.

Unsurprisingly, Adam didn’t want to believe his dad could have been involved in the shady business, which caused a brief fight between him and Cassie. Also unsurprisingly, Jake (Chris Zylka) was ready to dive head first into the Ethan conspiracy theory, which also led him to believe Ethan has been working with the present-day witch hunters who are after the circle. This just got real, you guys!

Meanwhile, Diana (Shelley Hennig) had a little romantic situation of her own — and this one had a super-hot Australian accent! A lovely chap named Grant (Tim Phillipps) spent the hour wooing her with smooth talk, piles of money, and promises of stuffed monkeys. I really hope she decides to go out with him, because waiting around for Adam would be the biggest waste of time ever. In case she hasn’t heard from all the peeping ravens, he’s busy wrecking Cassie Blake.

And you know how Faye (Phoebe Tonkin) hates when things don’t go her way? Just imagine how pissed she was when she discovered that Lee’s (Grey Damon) ex-girlfriend Eva (Alexia Fast) was not only alive, but still very much in love with him. Faye was able to steal a kiss from him at Casino Night — thanks to her own brand of natural lady magic — but the after-party wasn’t quite as much fun. Eva put a nasty little spell on Lee that appeared to suspend him in some sort of full-body cocoon, or it’s also possible she killed him. I guess we’ll have to wait and see!

Lastly, I continue to weep for Melissa (Jessica Parker Kennedy.) She continues to play sixth fiddle to the rest of the circle and it’s getting kind of sad. Her big moment this week was when she reminded Jake that Cassie is “really into” Adam. She even said, “I’ve done my part,” like she knows she’s been reduced to practically nothing.

Dear sweet writers, please give Melissa something cool. Anything cool. Actually, anything at all!

I’ve got to say, John Blackwell (Joe Lando) looks pretty good for a guy who’s been presumed dead for more than a decade. Cassie’s (Britt Robertson) old man finally showed his face on the Feb. 16 episode of The Secret Circle, and it took less than an hour for her to try to kill him. (Is it just me, or does every girl on The CW have crippling daddy issues?)

But let’s back up a wee bit: John urged Cassie not to tell anyone about his return to Chance Harbor, but since she’s pretty much the worst at keeping secrets, she went straight to Adam (Thomas Dekker) with the big news. This led to an extreme act of shadiness, in which John told Cassie to stay away from those no-good Conants. Sounds like Cassie’s dad is totally Team Jake (Chris Zylka)!

And speaking of Jake, his witch-hunter buddies kidnapped Cassie and only agreed to let her go if he gave himself up for trade. The catch? Cassie was put under a spell that forced her to trap John in a fiery circle of love — as if he hasn’t been in that position enough already. Had the circle not showed up to suppress Cassie’s darkness, she’d have an extra-crispy dad on her hands. Or, more likely, no dad at all.

So what had the ladies of the circle been up to while all this Cassie kidnapping drama was going down? Why, partying with their scrubby voodoo boy toys of course! Melissa (Jessica Parker Kennedy) and Callum played a game of fun-with-totems, while Faye (Phoebe Tonkin) was off playing a little game of her own with Lee (Grey Damon.) Melissa suspected the voodoo boys were actually trying to steal their powers, but Lee insisted that wasn’t the case. Then he and Faye got down to biznass.

And remember when I said John was clearly Team Jake? He proved my point by thanking Jake for saving Cassie’s life, then saying it was obvious he cared for her very much. “Tonight was only the beginning,” he promised.

Ooh, chilling!

Cassie’s (Britt Robertson) game of emotional ping-pong continued on the Feb. 9 episode of The Secret Circle – and Adam (Thomas Dekker) was, once again, this week’s winner. His prize? A mouth party with Chance Harbor’s darkest little witch! If kissing were a big deal, I might have to call Cassie a slut.

Fortunately it’s not a big deal, so Chance Harbor’s “Big Ol’ Slut” award goes to none other than Faye (Phoebe Tonkin), who began the episode by waking up to an underwear-clad Jake (Chris Zylka.) Ladies, for those of you who looked at Jake and wondered “boxers or briefs,” wonder no more!

The rest of the circle decided to throw an anti-Valentine’s, no-boys-allowed slumber party — but that all went to crap when Diana (Shelley Hennig) decided to cast a spell to summon a hot pizza delivery guy to the door and make out with him. Keep in mind, this was after she made out with Lee (Grey Damon.) Hm… Maybe I should have given her the “Big Ol’ Slut” award.

Cassie kind of killed the party when she showed up complaining about seeing ghosts. And after a brief, but memorable, seance — the dead witches simply spelled out the word “sacred” — Cassie left to visit the church where John Blackwell killed the infamous coven. Jake and Adam once again rushed to Cassie’s rescue, but this time, Cassie had to make a choice: Let the dead witches kill Adam, after possessing him, or give them the medallion?

Jake wanted Cassie to keep the medallion (what a surprise), but like I said above, Adam and Cassie ended the episode with a hot lip-lock. So I’m sure you can figure out who survived between Adam and the medallion.

I would like to note that, once again, Melissa (Jessica Parker Kennedy) had the worst week ever. Not only was she the only member of the circle who didn’t get a Valentine’s Day hookup, but she also spent a good chunk of the hour convulsing on the floor. Is she cursed and we just don’t know it? I feel really badly for Melissa — and JPK.

If Faye (Phoebe Tonkin) was a real person, I would kick her in the shins for what she did on the Feb. 2 episode of The Secret Circle. Her increasingly troubling addiction to Devil’s Spirit aside, she committed a major no-no when she [Spoiler alert!] totally made out with Jake (Chris Zylka)! Doesn’t she know it isn’t smart to piss off Cassie (Britt Robertson) now that she’s all hopped up on crazy dark magic?

But maybe I’m just letting my inner Cassie-Jake shipper get the best of me on this one. After all, Faye dated Jake before he ever met Cassie and Jake walked in on Cassie kissing Adam (Thomas Dekker) a few episodes ago. So even though I’d love to see Cassie and Jake make beautiful blonde babies, he’s technically fair game to any member of the circle. Well, except Melissa (Jessica Parker Kennedy), because she apparently isn’t allowed to have any fun at all.

And while we’re on the topic of relationship drama, Shelley Hennig wasn’t kidding when she told HollywoodLife.com that “there’s still some ‘Diadam’ happening.” She gave a super-emotional speech at Adam’s birthday party, which got me — I mean her – a little choked up. (I’m a man! Men don’t cry!)

But aside from the raging hormones of Chance Harbor, this week’s episode was still plenty meaty. After getting her hands on her father’s medallion, Cassie met up with the witch who confronted her in Jake’s memory last week, and she convinced the circle to perform a spell to release the power of the bling. Little did they know, they were being tricked into trapping their powers in the medallion! That’s when bad-ass Cassie nearly lit the woman on fire in order to get the truth out of her: John Blackwell is, in fact, very much alive.

I can’t say the same for the witch, though, whose throat was slashed by her mysterious witch-hunter master when she reported her failure. Cassie claims the circle is “ready” for the hunters to bring it — but I’m not so sure.

The first thing you should know about couples on The Secret Circle is that no one ever really breaks up for good — and that’s especially the case with Diana (Shelley Hennig) and Adam (Thomas Dekker), who have been in a weird place ever since they decided to end things. ”You’ll still see Adam going after Diana and Diana going after Adam,” Shelley tells HollywoodLife.com. “We have a lot of cool scenes. There’s still some ‘Diadam’ happening. It’s going in an interesting path.”

“I love this story line, and I love working with Thomas,” Shelley adds. “So when they broke up, Shelley was very upset. What I love about the relationship is that it’s the most relatable one on the show. Their scene in the hallway during the Fire and Ice dance was definitely not black-and-white; there was some underlying stuff there. It was Diana acting, you know, telling Adam to go for Cassie. I realized Diana is such a mature person for her age; she’s not the type of girl to lash out.”

Of course, if things don’t work out between Diana and Adam, there’s a burgeoning fan base hoping to see her shack up with a seemingly unlikely member of the circle — Faye (Phoebe Tonkin)! While Shelley says the witches have become “frenemies,” she’s also aware many viewers would love to seem them become much more.

“It’s crazy how that whole ‘Fayana’ thing started,” Shelley says. “It all started on Twitter, and I think the biggest reason was that people really liked that porch scene from the pilot. Everybody loves a good rivalry. What’s ironic is that Phoebe and I are really close in real life. We tweet these photos of us together and people really started to like it. I think that’s why they ship us, so we’ve decided to go ahead and ship ourselves.”

Still, Shelley does acknowledge that “anything could happen. It’s The CW.”

And what about Dawn (Natasha Henstridge) and Charles (Gale Harold)? Diana and friends have been in the dark for the most part, but Shelley tells me it won’t be long before the circle is just as privy to their shenanigans as the audience has been.

“It’s inevitable for Diana to find out how many people her father has killed,” Shelley says. “Thomas [Dekker] made a joke the other day: Why don’t we just say, ‘Cut the crap, Dawn. Cut the crap, Charles. We know that you know that we know that you know. Now give us some insight about what we can do!’”
