Anyone other than John Cena would have called in sick to WrestleMania 29 with a bad case of food poisoning and a broken thumb, but the gladiator toughed it out to beat The Rock in one of the best WrestleMania cards of all time!

John Cena Wins WrestleMania 29

Hours before WrestleMania 29, HollywoodLife.com asked the future champ what his biggest obstacle was in his match against The Rock, and his anser was simple: “I had food poisoning on Wednesday and broke my thumb.”

But instead of complaining about it, he took everything in stride focusing on the importance of the match and what it meant to the 80,000+ fans in MetLife Stadium, as well as the millions watching at home.

“I took [last year's loss] a little bit too hard,” he told us. “I really thought losing was not an option last year. With The Rock’s limited schedule, I didn’t think it was a shoe-in to ever have the chance again. But then I got another opportunity, and if I did not win, I would have to have had to take a step back, look at myself as a whole and make some changes, because what I have been doing, it isn’t something that wasn’t getting things done.”

The Cenation is rejoicing today, and rightfully so. John Cena was considered the underdog as he headed into his highly anticipated match with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson on April 7 at WrestleMania XXIX, but by the end of the battle, he wasn’t just the winner; he was the new WWE Champion.

And while WWE Superstars are usually known for their (very public) trash talk, Cena kept is classy after besting The Rock. He shook hands with his rival in the center of the ring, and The Rock returned the respect.

The Rock had seemed pretty confident before the match, tweeting, “Its on. Biggest #Wrestlemania of all time. Greatest night of my career.” The People’s Champion even tweeted a picture of himself lacing up for the match, ready to take on Cena.

Of course, this isn’t the first time Cena and The Rock have come face-to-face at Wrestlemania…

Just last year, the titans clashed at Wrestlemania XXVIII, which fans believed would be a “once in a lifetime” match. Little did they know, the Superstars would do battle just one year later, with very different results this time.

John Cena actually stopped by HollywoodLife.com last year to talk about his original match against The Rock, but of course, the topic of conversation quickly took a very weird turn.

Team Hell No defeated Dolph Ziggler and Big E. Langston

Fandango defeated Chris Jericho

Alberto Del Rio defeated Jack Swagger, retaining his title as the World Heavyweight Champion

The Undertaker defeated C.M. Punk

Triple H defeated Brock Lesnar in a No Holds Barred match, which is good, because Triple H would have had to retire if he lost.

And last, but certainly not least, John Cena beat The Rock, making him the new WWE Champion!

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has done it all from being a WWE Champion winner, to being an action movie star, but most importantly he is a father to Simone, 11. So of course with a resume like that, who wouldn’t want to get some advice from the talented man? Luckily for Channing Tatum, he had some words for the young actor.

The Rock told Hollywoodlife.com EXCLUSIVELY at the red carpet of G. I. Joe March 28, what he thinks of his costar becoming a father.

“I think he is going to be the best! I told him that being a father, there is nothing better! He’ll be inspiring an he’ll do very well.”

How sweet!

Jenna & Channing Are Expecting Their First Child

The cute Step Up couple told PEOPLE that they were expecting Dec. 17.

Channing and Jenna “are pleased to announce that they are expecting the birth of their first child next year,” their rep told PEOPLE.

The loving husband revealed how he and his wife feel about their pregnancy.

“I’m ready; I think she’s ready,” he said.

But do they have plans for more children?

“The first number that pops into my head is three, but I just want one to be healthy and then we’ll see where we go after that,” he added.

Along with The Rock‘s unbelievable victory after 10 years of not being the WWE Champ, and John Cena winning the actual Royal Rumble battle royal, which guarantees you a championship match at WrestleMania. Will this be the start of the two stars battling each other at WrestleMania 29 in NYC?

But now that both men seem to be geared for a rematch, for what will be much bigger stakes, it could easily be the biggest match of all time.
