It’s over and it’s sad! The Office came to an end and the cast is coming to terms with the end to a nine season run. It was awesome seeing Steve Carell come back on the show and stars from the show gave their fans one last thought.

‘The Office’ Tweets Their Goodbyes’

It was sad to see it all just stop but all good things must come to an end. Here’s what the stars of the show thought about the finale and the loyal fans.

John Krasinski: “So this is it. There’s truly nothing I can say to tell you all how much your love and support of this show has meant. Thank you … thank you!”

Steve Carell: “Thank You Scranton.”

Rainn Wilson: “Thank you to the greatest fans in the world. You guys made our show what it was. We’re truly blessed. #TheOffice”

Jenna Fischer: “Thanks for watching us all these years. We will miss you!”

Mindy Kaling: “How weird, the Office SERIES finale is tonight. When I started there in 2004 there was no Michael Klump or Prison Mike or Justice Beaver.”

Ricky Gervais: “I can’t tell you how sad I’d be about The Office ending tonight if it hadn’t achieved a 200 episode syndication deal.”

Brian Baumgartner: “I cannot express my thanks strongly enough to the fans of our show. I love you all- in different and distinct ways. #ThanksFromMe #TheOffice.”

Kate Flannery: “The End … Love you all.”

After eight years and nearly 200 episodes, the doors of Dunder Mifflin closed forever — to the fans, at least — during the May 16 series finale of The Office, and the big ending went down in the most appropriately weird setting I could have ever imagined: Dwight’s (Rainn Wilson) wedding to Angela (Angela Kinsey)!

The nutty nuptials doubled as an excuse to bring back some old faces — including Andy (Ed Helms), whose tearful audition on America’s Next Acapella Sensation had since turned him into a viral sensation.

But no return was more welcome — or highly anticipated — than that of Michael Scott (Steve Carell), who had some super-weird words to say to the camera about Dwight and Angela’s union:

“I feel like all my kids grew up, and then they married each other. It’s every parent’s dream!”

Pam & Jim’s Big Announcement

We’ve been with Jim (John Krasinski) and Pam (Jenna Fisher) through every phase of their relationship — meeting, dating, getting married and having babies — so it was only fitting that the series finale introduced another major milestone for the couple: Moving as far away from Scranton, Penn., as humanly possible!

The show’s main couple is packing its bags and moving to Austin, where I can confidently say they will never work at a place quite like Dunder Mifflin again.

More Final-Episode Revelations

1. Meredith (Kate Flannery) discovered her son is a stripper, and she’s totally OK with it.

2. Erin (Ellie Kemper) met her birth parents, played by Joan Cusack and Ed Begley Jr.!

3. Phyllis (Phyllis Smith) and Stanley (Leslie David Baker) were reunited.

4. Ryan (B.J. Novak) and Kelly (Mindy Kaling) ran off together!

5. Nellie (Catherine Tate) might have taken Ryan’s baby to Europe.

6. Oscar (Oscar Nuñez) is apparently very good at Oragami.

That last one really blew my mind.

It’s official, folks: Dunder Mifflin is preparing to close its doors for good. The upcoming ninth season of The Office will be its last, executive producer Greg Daniels told reporters Aug. 21 during a conference call.

He also revealed that the final season will introduce the audience to the as-yet-unseen documentary crew that’s been filming the Dunder Mifflin employees this whole time! As for a visit from Steve Carell, who famously left the show in 2011, the cast and crew would love to have him back at some point during the final season.

Jenna Fischer and Lee Kirk are brand new parents! They must be thrilled!

Andy Bernard [Ed Helms] is replacing Michael Scott [Steve Carell] as his successor and head of Dunder Mifflin’s Scranton, Pa., branch! We think  Andy is a great choice! TVLine’s Editor-in-Chief Michael Ausiello spoke with Ed about the new role and here are some of the hilarios things he had to say:

When and how did you find out that Andy was the new boss?

It was probably about three or four weeks before production [on the new season] started. I had lunch with [showrunner and costar] Paul Lieberstein, and he’s a marvelously cryptic guy. So it was a little bit of a dance at first and then it came out that that’s the direction they were planning. And I was so excited that I wet my pants. [Laughs] That’s not totally true, but it was exciting. In some ways it felt like just another lunch meeting, but with epic news. And then we had a nice little toast.

‘The Office’ star made the big announcement on ‘The Tonight Show’ on Tuesday (July 19) night!

The little bundle of joy will be Jenna Fischer‘s first child with her husband Lee Kirk.When ‘Tonight Show‘ host Jay Leno asked Jenna if her parents were excited about their first grandchild, she corrected him — and let the big secret slip!

The 37-year-old actress said, “This is the second grandchild, but first grandson.”

Jenna also revealed she’s only got another two months to wait before she’s a mom, telling Jay she’s due in “September – we’re in what they call the home stretch.”
