You may hear the supermodel coaches in season 2 of “The Face” being referred to as “Facemakers.” It sounds like a simple word, but what does it really mean? I think of a Facemaker as someone (or a group of people) who transforms another person’s life. It happened to me. I have a Facemaker, someone who changed my life.

‘The Face’ host opened up in an exclusive open letter — see what he had to say about his career!
I have always been interested in photography, but growing up it never dawned on me that it could be a career. In high school, I used to take photos of my friends and school sporting events. In fact, it was my biology teacher who taught me to print black and white prints when I was 14 years old. At the very same high school called Bryanston, I studied the sciences, as well as fashion design, tailoring and weaving! That lead to my mum entering me into a televised model search competition in England called The Clothes Show. I was lucky enough to get selected for the show, but didn’t win. I made it to the final four and secured a contract with Select models in London.

The stunning supermodel and coach of ‘The Face’ shared an emotional open letter detailing her experience in the modeling world — and you can read it EXCLUSIVELY right here! See what Lydia had to say about her journey and be sure to tune in to the premiere of season two.
I’m a supermodel, actress and humanitarian – but I’m not one to be summed up or categorized too easily. I have always been drawn to the world of entertainment and self-expression. I dreamt of being an actress because I love the challenge and creative process of bringing a character to life on screen; perhaps that’s why I’ve been immensely successful in my modeling career. Modeling is like acting but in a silent film.
