Caroline Lovell strongly advocated home births, but she went into cardiac arrest and died while giving birth to her second daughter at home, according to The Daily Mail. The 36-year-old was taken to the hospital, but it was too late. Fortunately, her daughter, Zahra, survived.

A private midwife was there to assist with the delivery, but her heart stopped and paramedics were called to the home in Melbourne.

During a 2009 health inquiry, Caroline shared her strong views: “On a personal note, I am quite shocked and ashamed that home birth will no longer be a woman’s free choice in low-risk pregnancies. As a home birthing mother I will have no choice but to have an unassisted birth at home as this is the place I want to birth my children.”

Arizona residents John and Samantha Allen, both 23 years old, pleaded not guilty for the tragic death of their young cousin Ame Deal, according to The Daily Mail. The innocent girl’s body was found suffocated inside of a plastic box in the intense July heat. Her relatives claimed it was a hide-and-seek game gone terribly wrong, but investigators soon discovered the family was lying to cover up shocking actions.

Police say babysitters John and Samantha’s cruel discipline tactics included forcing their young cousin to do intense physical exercise such as backbends and running around the 103 degree heat before climbing inside the storage bin in the hot summer temperatures. Samantha watched as her husband locked the girl inside, and then the couple went to sleep.

Little Ame was four feet, two inches tall, but the box was only 14 inches wide, about a foot deep and less than three feet long!

The next morning, Ame’s body was discovered. The couple have allegedly locked her inside numerous times — even throwing the box around while she was still inside!

Maricopa County Attorney Bill Montgomery said the crimes warrant the death penalty because the girl was so young and the murder was committed in an “especially heinous, cruel or depraved manner.”

What a HORRIBLE crime!

Beck Laxton, 46, and partner Kieran Cooper, 44, kept their child Sasha‘s gender hidden because they wanted his “real” personality to develop, according to The Daily Mail. For five years, they referred to Sasha as “the infant,” only gave him gender-neutral toys, dressed him in boy and girl clothing and didn’t allow a TV in the house!

But when Sasha started primary school, the secret was too hard to keep. “I wanted to avoid all that stereotyping,” Beck said. “Stereotypes seem fundamentally stupid. Why would you want to slot people into boxes?”

Only a handful of close family members knew the child’s gender, while friends and other relatives were left guessing. The secret was almost revealed when Sasha took to running around naked, but Beck encouraged him to play with dolls instead.

At school, Sasha wears a top from the girls’ uniform list and encouraged to wear flowery tops on weekends.

“I just want him to fulfill his potential, and I wouldn’t push him in any direction,” Beck explained. “As long as he has good relationships and good friends, then nothing else matters does it?”

HollyMoms — a study reveals that bonding with your baby is SO important for his or her future romances, according to The Daily Mail! An ability to love, trust and handle arguments develops in the first 18 months of your baby’s life, and unsupported babies become defensive arguers!

“It is the first real attachement that people have with another person and because of that it serves as a template for what will happen later in their life span,” Professor Jeffry Simpson at the University of Minnesota said. “When children are young and their brains are developing they learn a great deal very rapidly, so they are more likely to take in a lot of information.”

He says that a secure bond is more likely to result in a satisfied, emotionally-stable relationship later on in life. “But there are also a number of intervening factors that can affect that and change the way you think about the world,” he added.

The study, which was published in the journal Current Directions in Psychological Science, says an infant’s interpersonal experiences with its mother predicts behavior in romantic relationships 20 years later.

“Before you can remember, before you have language to describe it, and in ways you aren’t aware of, implicit attitudes get encoded into the mind about how you’ll be treated or how worthy you are of love and affection,” Jeffry said.

Gianna Hadjis died from a horrible accident when a older box-style television toppled and fell on her head as she played by herself in her Chicago living room. “Most people are more concerned with what their children are watching than the TV itself,” her father Adam Hadjis said, according to The Daily Mail.

Gianna’s mother called Adam when the accident happened, and he rushed to the hospital but she was already dead.

“I missed her by an hour,” the grieving dad said. “One minute she’s there, full of life, the next minute she’s gone.”

Gianna’s mother and boyfriend were present in the house, but weren’t in the room when the television fell.

“The most important thing is to warn other people with children that if they own a television that is unstable they can be putting their child at risk,” Adam warned.

Strangely, Gianna is actually the third child killed by a falling television in the Chicago area in the past three months.

Shaniya Singleton, 3, died Nov. 8, and Karl Clermont, 6, died Oct. 30.

There are ways to prevent this from happening to your child: “You can buy straps to help secure the TV better or get a stand that’s made for a TV,” Dr. Karen Sheehan said. “But if you can’t find a stand for the TV, sometimes it might be safer on the floor.”

A recent study conducted by the University of Oxford suggests the amount of sunlight exposed to an expecting mother can alter the health of the unborn child.

Babies born in the fall are said to live the longest, while those in the spring are not! “It seems absurd that the month you are born or conceived can affect your future life chances,” chairman of circadian neuroscience at the Oxford University Russell Foster told The Daily Mail. “But how long you live and how likely you are to develop a range of diseases, including devastating conditions such as schizophrenia, all appear to be associated with the month of birth.”

Those born in November are said to live the longest and healthiest lifestyles. It is also believed that the vitamin D plays a significant role in the baby’s health and well-being.

Foster also added, “The nice thing is you have a natural control for these results, by looking in the southern hemisphere, where you often see the seasonal patterns shifted by six months.”

Louisville, Kentucky resident Tasha Parsons may face up to 65 years in prison for allegedly beating her 12-year-old son Devin to death after he hid her pain killers.

Social workers called the crime scene “horrific” after Tasha used belts, hands, and household items to knock the boy unconscious. Devin hid his mothers Percocet pills because he did not like her constant mood changes. She left him for hours before finally seeking medical assistance for the boy. Tasha’s boyfriend Waldo Jones stood back and watched the whole thing. He has been arrested and is facing a felony charge of neglect of a dependant causing death.

“He didn’t want her taking them,” the victim’s grandmother Jeannie Welsh told The Daily Mail. “He kept telling me over and over: ‘Mammaw, I just want my mommy back. That’s all I want’”.

She also added she had strong beliefs her grandson was in trouble.
