If you’re in the midst of that terrible twos stage, than you can relate to parents Rebecca Romijn, 38, and Jerry O’Connell, 36. Except they don’t only have one to deal with…they have double the trouble!

“I feel like we’re getting through the death watch period where they might almost die, but hopefully we’re going to start communicating and explain why you can’t stand on that really tall piece of furniture,” Rebecca tells Rachael Ray about her twins Charlie and Dolly — Dolly being the extreme daredevil.

[She's like,] ‘Where is a giant piece of furniture I can stand on top of and almost die?’” says Rebecca.

The mom-of-two admits that having twins may be double the fun, but it’s also double the work! Not to mention her girls are complete opposites.

“It’s just like a crazy social experiment where you have these two people who were born on the same day, who have been raised in identical upbringings in the same bedroom and they could not be more different as people,” the actress says.

And not only that, Rebecca has a goof ball husband to go with her wild little ladies. She’s the disciplinarian of the house!

“They’re in this little girl like ‘Daddy is a rock star’ [phase]. He walks into the room [and] they’re like, ‘Daddy! Daddy, daddy, daddy!’”she says, adding that her “softie” Jerry is a key component to wrangling her girls.

“They’re at this age where they run off in opposite directions from one another, so I’m still not really brave enough to take them out alone by myself because you can’t run in two directions,” Rebecca explains. “Jerry’s big enough, he’s brave enough, to scoop down and pick them both up, but they’re getting to be big people!”

Now that Elisabeth Röhm‘s daughter, Easton, has reached the dreaded age of two, the Law & Order actress is realizing that there are definitely life lessons we can learn from our kids! “I have finally begun to learn a life lesson that almost nothing but my daughter could teach me: how to stay cool under pressure — upon being violated, publicly embarrassed or simply feeling baffled by a confrontation,” Elisabeth, 37, writes in a blog on People.com. Hey HollyMoms, how do you deal with your child’s dramatic tantrums?

Elisabeth gained 75 pounds when she was pregnant!

“I’ve learned to always take a deep breath and extract myself from the equation. I stop. I breathe. I think. I forgive. I explain calmly. I quickly move on. IT’S NOT PERSONAL!!!! I have learned from my little one how to get what I really want in life: trust and progress,” writes Elisabeth. We have to say, she has a good head on her shoulders — most moms I’ve seen in action have a tendency to yell and scream when they get totally stressed out and frustrated. How do you react?

“I could give a list of incidents that have pushed me to the edge, challenged me to be firm beyond my comfort zone and have ultimately made me a better mother,” Elisabeth explains. “Like the time Easton had a meltdown at her second birthday and went running to the nanny instead of me, or when she nearly blinded me with a swift kick of her UGG boot and I had to drive home with impaired vision (thankfully only a few blocks).” But what Elisabeth has realized is that when you explain to your child that what they did was wrong and that you know they can do better, things seem to change. “In general, I’ve seen amazing results when I step back and treat Easton or another human being as if they are behaving in the way I’d like them to behave.”

Elisabeth, who is engaged to Easton’s father, entrepreneur Ron Wooster, is really looking forward to being a “non-reactive person” this year. And although the terrible twos might challenge that goal, she thinks that a little humor and some patience will go a long way. “Parenting deeply empowers our intuition, self-respect and compassion,” she writes. “I know we can all confirm that the patience that we’ve learned to exercise has indeed brought out the best in us.” So HollyMoms, what’s your strategy for tackling this stage in your kids’ lives?

Can you believe that Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman’s daughter Sunday Rose is already in the throws of the terrible twos? It’s nice to know that her famous father doesn’t mind it one bit!

Fatherhood comes first for country crooner Keith Urban. The 42-year-old singer and wife, Nicole Kidman, 43, are enjoying every second that they get to spend with their adorable daughter, Sunday Rose. “She’s now walking and talking,” bragged the proud papa at the Toronto International Film Festival, where Nicole’s new film Rabbit Hole scored rave reviews.

Keeping up with a 2-year-old keeps Keith on his toes. “She’s a live-wire,” he says. “She’s into everything and wants to know about everything.” But that doesn’t bother him, in fact, he’s making it a point to stay positive. “It’s not the Terrible Twos time, it’s the Good Twos time,” adds Keith. We hope he still feels that way in a few months!

What’s it like to deal with twin daughters who are going through the “terrible twos”? Just ask Rebecca Romijn and Jerry O’Connell, who don’t seem to be enjoying their double trouble. At all.

Sure, twins are double the fun, but they’re also double the aggravation, at least according to Jerry O’Connell, who’s not shy about wanting to avoid his “crazy” twin girls’ “terrible twos.” The 36-year-old and his wife, Rebecca Romijn, seem to be dealing with a campaign of terror being waged by their 19-month-old twins, Charlie and Dolly. “It never gets easier,” he tells Extra of his daughters. “It gets worse and worse and worse and worse.” Oh dear!

We thought maybe he was exaggerating, but then Rebecca, 37,  echoed his sentiments. “We took the girls on their first merry-go-round ride.” she tells USmagazine.com. “One of them was really into it and the other wasn’t having it.”

If it’s not one of them throwing a fit, then it’s the two of them getting into it with each other. “We went for a surrey ride with the fringe on top — it’s like a bicycle with the baby seats in the front,” Rebecca says. “They were instructed to wear helmets but they kept trying to take them off. Then they discovered it was more fun to bash each other in the heads with their helmets!”

We can only imagine what it’s like trying to manage this trouble-making twosome 24/7, but according to Beverly Hills pediatrician Dr. Peter Weldstein, it’s perfectly normal behavior.  ”I would be worried if it wasn’t happening,” he says.

“It’s a developmental stage, like adolescence,” he explains. “This is around the age that they are becoming becoming more cognitive, more aware of things, and they are looking to be more independent. That’s why they don’t like being told ‘no’ and have meltdowns.”

So what’s the doctor’s advice for Rebecca and Jerry, and all those other parents going through their kids’ terrible twos? “Be consistent,” Dr. Waldstein advices. “Be firm, pick your battles, and still be the boss.”
