Justin Bieber apparently made a pretty big statement to girlfriend Selena Gomez. Not only did the 17-year-old singer tell his girlfriend that he’s in love with her, but according to a recent report from OK! magazine, he confessed that she’s ‘the one.’ But does he really know that for sure at such a young age?

“Justin has told Selena she’s the one,” the source says. “Selena adores Justin and is definitely in love for the first time in her life. She’s talked about how cute their kids would be and that sort of thing.”

And yes, the baby-making ‘process’ (ie, sex) is already happening for the young pair, who can’t seem to keep their hands off one another. “Selena and Justin are having an intimate relationship. But she’s not going to let herself get pregnant,” the source continues. “She definitely loves kids and could see herself having Justin’s baby one day. But it’s not going to be right now.”

Is Selena really the person Justin is going to spend the rest of his life with? Breathe a sigh of relief, Beliebers, because 99% of me says no. There are those rare circumstances where you could marry your high school sweetheart, but for the most part that’s just a pipe dream.

If you’ve had your first sexual experience, you might feel like that person is going to be the one you’ll be with forever, but he probably won’t be. He’s going to fall into a category called ‘first love’, which is special, but doesn’t last forever  – aside from in your memory.

I don’t believe Selena and Justin even have that 1% chance of lasting forever. They weren’t high school sweethearts, didn’t grow up knowing one another and they’re both celebrities whose careers are taking off like rockets. That isn’t a recipe for success. But you never know…

The best advice I can give you if you think your boyfriend is ‘the one’ at 17 is to enjoy the moment. You want to look back at your first love and be grateful you had him, that you had such a great guy and such a great experience. Enjoy being where you at this very moment, and don’t look towards the future. Savor it…because it won’t last forever.

Super-skinny supermodels are under fire for inspiring preteens to have poor body images!

Health officials are becoming increasingly concerned as eating disorders are being treated for children as young as six-years-old! 

In a study by University College London’s Institute of Child Health, 208 cases of ‘early onset’ eating disorders were recorded in preteens during a 14-month window, the Daily Mail reports.

Doctors involved with the study are calling for ‘urgent action’ in order to spot the disorders in kids and draw attention to the problem, and are hoping these numbers can act as the baseline for future studies in order to see if the trend rises with the infiltration of too-thin celebs.

It’s more important than ever for the fashion industry to be aware of the fact that super-skinny models can negatively-impact kids!

Kim Kardashian will be at the launch party for a brand new credit card that’s specially made for kids. Later today (November 9) the 30-year-old plans to party at Manhattan hotspot Pacha, where she’s throwing her support (and name, natch!) behind the Kardashian Prepaid MasterCards. Sure, they’ll have a preset spending limit, so they’re more like debit card, but we can’t help but worry that giving credit cards to kids is just a really bad idea.

Sure, the prepaid aspect is nice and will help keep kids from overspending and getting themselves into credit card debt by the time they graduate high school, but at the same time, there are bound to be fees — for things like reloading the card and withdrawing cash advances — so there are definitely some downsides.

Mobile Resource, which is the company that created the FDIC-insured cards, feels that the tiny pieces of plastic will provide parents with a sense of security because they can monitor their kids’ spending habits through their cell phones. “Teens do not spend their money as their parents think they do. And drugs are a huge problem in this country. I give my son a small about of cash and track his spending on his card,” a rep for the company tells the New York Post.

Kim, who has also lent her name to diet pills and perfume, isn’t the only Kardashian backing the card. Her sisters Khloe and Kourtney are also fans of the new MasterCard. Dealing with a teenage daughter isn’t exactly smooth sailing, but when you’ve got 18 kids? Forget about it! The stars of the TLC reality show Sister Wives – Kody Brown and his four wives (Meri, 39, Janelle, 40, Christine, 37, and Robyn, 31) — have got to be stretched to their limits keeping up with so many kids, but their problems with their rebellious teens have reportedly gotten a lot worse since the show’s premiere on TLC last month. “The daughters seem messed up from this situation,” a neighbor who lives near the Brown’s Lehi, Utah, home tells In Touch. “It is no wonder that the teenagers of the Sister Wives family are rebelling. They are living in a surreal world where they are being told that it’s natural and wonderful for a man to have several wives,” Beverly Hills celebrity psychiatrist Dr. Carole Lieberman tells HollyBaby.com.

Other locals agree that the teenage members of the Brown brood have a tendency to rebel. Madison, a pretty brunette, has began running with a rough crowd of kids. “Her group of friends was caught popping pills in school,” says a source, adding that the 14-year-old tends to hang out with “Goths” and “druggies.” “Some nights she sneaks out to smoke cigarettes and drink alcohol, and her sisters Mykelti and Aspyn have covered for her.” HollyMoms, what would you do if your daughter started sneaking out and developing unhealthy habits?

Dr. Lieberman tells HollyBaby.com that she isn’t surprised that the kids are behaving badly and she’s placing blame on the parents. “The wives are in denial and are extremely damaging role-models for their daughters. They are teaching their daughters that they are not worth much, either — and that no man will love them,” she explains. “The daughters are being self-destructive because their mothers have thrust them into a soul-damaging lifestyle. Each additional wife stirs up jealousies and resentments, plunging them into darker despair.”

It looks like Mykelti, 13, is also following in her big sister’s footsteps. “She dyed her hair bright red a few weeks ago. It looks absolutely ridiculous,” says the neighbor, who is quick to point out that the teen goes out in public in short-shorts and sexy clothing, even in cold weather!

Dr. Lieberman says this is a classic cry for attention. “The daughters’ rebellion is a cry for help, a plea to be noticed and recognized for their own feelings — which are really at odds with their family. They are being forced to pretend for the cameras that they love — or at least accept – living in a polygamous family. But, deep down they know that it is very sick.”

We suggest the Brown’s forget about another season of their reality show, kick the cameras out of their house and put the spotlight back on parenting. Do you agree?

New research reveals that more than half of all anorexia and bulimia sufferers developed the eating disorder by their 10th birthday. It’s no longer just an issue affecting teenagers — how horrifying is that, HollyMoms?

Listen up, parents of tweens. We have some news that you must read. As if raising a child, protecting them from bullies at school and keeping them away from dangerous influences wasn’t stressful enough, a new study has revealed that most eating disorders begin before the age of 10. Yes, you read that correctly. According to a story in The Sun newspaper in the UK, anorexia and bulimia are no longer just serious issues for high school students. Going for days without eating as well as binging and purging are now problems for the junior high crowd.

The British branch of Overeaters Anonymous surveyed 250 people affected with anorexia. They discovered that eating disorders are prevalent in children as young as 7! Fifty-three percent of those studied admit that they developed an issue with food by the age of 10.

“Some might find the results of the survey shocking,” says a spokesperson for Overeaters Anonymous GB. “But, as our members have underlined, it is not uncommon for us to see people who developed an eating disorder before they reached their teens.”

What on earth would lead your preteen to stop eating? Experts say that peer pressure, trouble at home and even super-skinny celebrities are fueling the rise in eating disorders among impressionable tweens.

“By the age of 10, some of my little girl clients are already finding fault with their bodies. They say they’re fat already!” psychotherapist Dr. Gilda Carle Ph.D. tells HollyBaby.com. She points out that parents are often at the root of their child’s disorder, usually without even realizing it. “I had one mother remove a pillow from her living room that said, ‘You can never be too rich or too thin.’ That mom didn’t even realize she had the pillow in her house, but her child did and she internalized the message.”

So what’s a parent to do if you suspect your child is developing an eating disorder? Pay attention to who they admire and what body type their role models have. Dr. Carle stresses the importance of parents staying involved in every aspect of their kids lives, right down to what they’re putting (or not putting) in their mouths.

“Parents, please wake up! Sometimes the people closest to you are the ones you don’t really see,” she says. “Parents must pay close attention to what their child is eating. Is she excusing herself after a meal and running to the bathroom? Is her vocabulary peppered with the word ‘diet’? Is she on a seesaw of losing and gaining weight? These are all signs of a possible problem.”

Several celebrities have been opening up about their struggles with eating disorders. American Idol alum Katharine McPhee battled bulimia. A skeletal Mary-Kate Olsen checked herself into rehab in 2004 because of her issues with eating. And Jaime Pressly ate nothing but one English muffin a day when she was a young model.

Just remember, HollyMoms, it’s never too young to start talking to your kids about their bodies and the dangers of eating disorders.
