The actress opens up to the magazine about her relationship with Saturday Night Live star Jason Sudeikis and even plans of having children in the future.

Olivia Wilde & Jason Sudeikis — Their Fairytale Relationship

Marie Claire captures the fairytale story of Olivia and Jason from the very beginning as the actress relieves her insecurities when she originally began to date the star.

Oliva confessed the details of her first date with the Saturday Night Live stud.

“I thought, ‘I’m not beautiful enough or his type.’ I couldn’t wait to sit down and hear him talk. On our first date, in New York City, we closed the restaurant down at 2 a.m! He didn’t kiss me, and I was madly in love. I was overwhelmed.”

The engaged actress also revealed the couple’s plans to have children in the future.

“We’ve discussed all our ideals and hopes. I can’t wait for children. I’m open-minded about how many, but three, which I love, is like a little party.”

Olivia’s Divorce From Tao Ruspoli

In September 2011, Olivia’s eight-year marriage to Italian prince Tao Ruspoli came to an end. The actress originally filed for divorce in March 2011 in a Los Angeles Superior Court and received the final ruling on Sept. 29.

“I had grown up with Tao; we had just drifted. I felt I had something to prove. If you fall off a horse, you get back up. I am not a quitter. I hung on for as long as possible, until it was more hurtful to stay…I’m so grateful for the pain and the heartbreak.”

Oliva tells Marie Claire that she is grateful for the breakup because it lead her to her current relationship with Jason.

“It gave me the courage to leave and brought me to the great love of my life.”

Olivia Wilde is a free woman. The actress divorce from Tao Ruspoli has been finalized, People reports.

Olivia, who married Tao in 2003, filed papers back in March — and has since had rumored romances with Bradley Cooper and Justin Timberlake.

Although it’s a sad occasion, we’re glad that both Olivia and Tao can move on with their lives.

Olivia Wilde looks like she has it all — breathtaking beauty, a body to die for and a thriving acting career — but she also has the emotional scars from the end of her eight-year marriage to Tao Ruspoli. And we love how the gorgeous star doesn’t hold anything back as Glamour magazine’s June cover girl — sharing so much about her love life and her romantic dreams!

Olivia, now 27, married her prince at just 18 years old. Only later did she learn that both her mom and her grandmother also married young. But her parents, super-accomplished journalists Leslie and Andrew Cockburn, have been married for 35 years. Olivia’s marriage lasted only eight.

“Sometimes it’s only eight years and it’s great, and you have to know when it ends,” she tells Glamour.

The star of the upcoming Cowboys & Aliens says her mother has encouraged her to find the good in her breakup: “The mark of a good marriage is partnership and continuing to feel inspired by your spouse. I had that with Tao. But the end is not necessarily the tragedy. Staying in a relationship that is no longer working is the tragedy. Living unhappily—that’s the tragedy.”

Wow — is there a better lesson to take away from the sad end of a marriage? Olivia sounds intent on gathering up all the good she can from the experience, including the insight she has now on marrying as a teenager. Tao was 27.

“Everyone said it to me — and I had to figure it out for myself  – but you change so much. I’ve learned that it’s important to spend some time in a relationship with yourself and not being defined by your partner.”

Olivia says her blossoming career meant she and Tao had too much time apart and distance between them.

“We got engaged at Burning Man and married on a school bus. We were not conventional. I think the promise we always made was that if we are no longer happy, we won’t continue. And it got to the point that I was working 10 months of the year outside of LA and he was doing these incredible things in other places. We were no longer partners in crime.”

Olivia’s ready to date again, she says — and even prepared to get into a serious relationship: “I wish I could play the field. But it’s so not me. I go 100 percent into everything. And I’m a really good girlfriend.”

Sounds like it would be tough to find anyone who could disagree now!

Justin Timberlake may have split from longtime girlfriend Jessica Biel last month, but that didn’t stop him  from getting cozy with his Now co-star Olivia Wilde. I would say the answer here is NO. Justin clearly isn’t looking for a serious long-term girlfriend immediately – he and Jess did only break up last month – but he clearly likes what he likes; like most of us, he has a ‘type.’

Think of the guys you’ve dated. Do they all have something in common physically? We tend to gravitate towards what we like, and Justin is no different. He has a thing for girls with light eyes and dark hair, just like you might have a thing for photographers or for a brown-hair/brown-eyes combination.

Don’t be upset that your new guy has a type (especially because you’re it!) but make sure you’re ready to handle comments from the peanut gallery suggesting you’re a replacement GF. I’d go with something along the lines of ‘Clearly he still has good taste, then.’ It makes you look like the bigger person if you aren’t trashing his ex — doubly so because you happen to resemble her.

Olivia Wilde‘s separation from husband Tao Ruspoli looks like it is going to be permanent as the actress has officially filed for divorce. TMZ reports, “Wilde filed the papers last week in L.A. County Superior Court — citing ‘irreconcilable differences’ as the reason for the divorce.” Is the actress speeding the process up because of rumored new beau Ryan Gosling?

Olivia, 27, and Ryan, 30, were spotted holding hands and walking around a Cincinnati aquarium, where Ryan is shooting his new film The Ides of March. There were also reports that the two spent the night of the Golden Globes flirting with one another — just weeks before Olivia split from Tao.

The end of a love affair is horrible, especially so if you’re married. However, the demise of your relationship is much, much worse if there’s another man involved, such as is Olivia Wilde’s situation. It’s now being reported that the Tron star may have left her husband, Tao Ruspoli, for Blue Valentine star Ryan Gosling. If that’s true, here’s how Olivia should have handled her devastating love triangle.

The end of Olivia’s marriage was announced on Feb. 8, but she was reportedly flirting with Ryan as far back as the Golden Globe Awards in January; the two are now, one month after her split, supposedly getting close in a city far from home, Cincinnati. Is Olivia making some bad choices here?

Yes! Even if Ryan was the primary reason for the end of her marriage, it couldn’t have been the only reason. If she wanted to stray and leave, Ryan was merely the catalyst for other problems in her relationship. She should have confronted the issues with Tao before moving on with Ryan.

Secondly, regardless of how long she’s been ‘seeing’ Ryan, she should never be stepping out with him so publicly after announcing her divorce. It isn’t fair to her ex. Whatever she and Tao had, they were partners, married, in love once. She should be waiting before diminishing what they had by seemingly getting over him so quickly.

Love triangles are always horrific. Whether you’re in love with someone else while your ex is in love with you, or you’re in love with an ex who’s now happily involved with a new girlfriend, they’re never easy.

Although it seems like a new Hollywood trend — with Emma Stone involved with Dianna Agron‘s recent ex, Alex Pettyfer, and Sean Penn romancing Ryan Reynold‘s ex, Scarlett Johansson, in Mexico — love triangles are not cool or trendy. Triangles are dangerous, and they end up hurting at least one person involved.

So if you find yourself in the middle of a triangle, just put yourself in the injured party’s shoes (unless you’re already there). Walk a mile in them — and if you don’t like how it feels, make sure to treat your ex exactly as you’d want to be treated: with respect.
