Sylvester Stallone had a vision when directing The Expendables 2 — but it didn’t come to life in just one day!

The renowned director had the stars of the film get into character — punching, fighting and all — to capture the essence! And as Sylvester tells interviewer Jeanne Wolf: “pain is overrated.” Sounds thrilling!

Sylvester Stallone had to go through one of the worst things imaginable: his son Sage Stallone‘s death. The actor spoke with Good Morning America about the tragic incident.

“It’s tough. It’s very, very tough but if you have good friends and family support [you can get through it],” he said. “It’s a horrible situation, but time hopefully will heal. It’s a reality of life. It’s important to get back and try to start reliving your life or you can go into a spiral.”

Sage was found dead in his LA apartment on Aug. 13, the cause of death is still unknown.

The Expendables 2 is the hugely anticipated sequel to the summer 2010 worldwide success which does something most sequels don’t do, and that is improving drastically from the stellar original. And now that the Olympics are over, this will easily be the next summer event for everyone to enjoy!

The film stars Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Terry Crews, Randy Couture, with Bruce Willis and Arnold Schwarzenegger, with newest cast members Liam Hemsworth, Scott Adkins, martial arts legends Chuck Norris and Jean-Claude Van Damme, and Chinese actress Yu Nan as the first female EXPENDABLE.

And with all the explosions, testosterone and hilarious inside jokes that need to be seen to be believed, dare I say this is a film that you should obviously see with your guy friends but also with your girlfriends. I honestly believe everyone will find a reason to enjoy the Expendables 2. Whether it is the amazing non-stop action, the hunky legends of all your favorite action films or the brilliant performance by Liam Hemsworth. His character Billy the Kid is an amazing and important addition to the film that makes everything that happens in Expendables 2 have an emotional meaning.

I would also like to add, thank God Liam Hemsworth got the role over Taylor Lautner as its obvious that Taylor Lautner would not in any way be able to deliver the same performance. So adding the heart and the acting skills that Liam delivers in an action movie is not something that is always seen but gladly accepted. People don’t want to be dumbed down, people want to enjoy the escapism of movies and Expendables 2 delivers everything you want in a movie. It delivers 100% of the time.

Everyone is having fun with their roles and accentuating what brought them to the action world and it is a thank you card to the audience. So whatever your plans are this weekend, make sure you add Expendables 2 to the list.

The events surrounding Sage Satallone‘s death are still unclear. The 36-year-old was found dead in his home on July 13 and now more clues into what might have caused his death are being revealed.

TMZ claims that Sage might have been dealing Hydrocodone, a generic version of the painkiller Vicodin. It’s also believed that there were 60 prescription bottles in his home when his body was found, but they were all empty.

We told you that Sage had extensive dental work right before his untimely death.

Sylvester Stallone has reportedly hired Scott Ross, a famous private investigator to help him better learn what happened to his son.

Sylvester Stallone spoke out for the first time on the tragic death of his son, Sage Stallone.

“When a parent loses a child there is no greater pain. Therefore I am imploring people to respect my talented son’s memory and feel compassion for his loving mother Sasha,” he tells TMZ. “This agonizing loss will be felt for the rest of our lives. Sage was our first child and the center of our universe and I am humbly begging for all to have my son’s memory and soul left in peace.”

Sage, 36, was found dead on July 13 and reportedly died from an overdose. One law enforcement official said that Sage’s room was “disgusting” and the housekeeper was told to not disturb him, or even knock on the door.

We’re very sad to hear about Sage’s death and can’t even imagine what his family is going through at this time.

Sylvester Stallone spent Thursday, July 12, on a high. He was in San Diego at Comic-Con presenting his big new movie, Expendables 2. By Friday, July 13, he was faced with tragedy: the death of his son Sage Stallone.

Sylvester, 66, was in Hall H at the San Diego Convention Center at 4:45 pm on July 12 with his co-stars Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jean Claude Van Damme. They spoke for an hour about their exciting, action-packed new sequel, due in theaters on August 17. They all attended a party for the film after.

Friday, though, was a very different day for Sylvester. News broke that his son Sage, 36, had tragically died of an overdose of pills. Few details surrounding the death have been released yet.

News has broken that Sage Stallone, the son of Sylvester Stallone had died today, Friday, July 13.

Sage died of an overdose of pills. He was 36.

Sylvester’s rep, Michelle Bega, tells us, “Sylvester Stallone is devastated and grief-stricken over the sudden loss of his son Sage Stallone. His compassion and thoughts are with Sage’s mother, Sasha. Sage was a very talented and wonderful young man. His loss will be felt forever.”

A source close to Sage tells us, exclusively, “This comes a s complete shock! Sage was just at his agent’s office a couple of weeks ago and he seemed perfectly fine. Sage was a really good person. Everyone is just devastated.”

Sage was an actor, director, and producer. He appear in two of his dad’s films, Rocky V and Daylight. In 1996, he co-founded his own production company, Grindhouse Releasing.

He has one brother, Seargeoh Stallone. He also has three half-sister from his father’s third marriage to Jennifer Flavin: Sistine, Sophia, and Scarlet Stallone.
