After breaking off his engagement to Kat Von D, Sandra Bullock‘s ex Jesse James, 42, was awarded sole custody of his daughter Sunny, 7, in an Orange County, Calif., courthouse on Monday, July 25, following a three years long acrimonious court battle with her mother, adult film star Janine Lindemulder.

Throughout their marriage, Sandra worked alongside Jesse and the court in order to ensure her husband was given full custody of Sunny.

Jesse’s attorney John Schilling tells People.com that if Janine chooses to relocate to Texas to be near Sunny, she’ll be ordered to inpatient rehab. If she remains in California, she’ll only get monitored visitation of her daughter.

Janine was jailed for tax evasion in 2008 after prosecutors said she failed to pay more than $200,000 in taxes owed to the Internal Revenue Service.

“Jesse feels vindicated,” Schilling says. “This is what he’s been claiming all along, that Janine needs therapy.”

In a candid interview on Good Morning America this morning, May 4, Jesse James, 42, who some people consider the “most hated man in America,” spoke out about his relationship with Sandra Bullock, 46, and the affair that destroyed what seemed to be the perfect life. Have you forgiven Jesse for what he did?

Jesse, who is now dating TLC’s L.A. Ink star Kat Von D, tells GMA reporter Vicki Mabrey that he moved his entire family out of California to Austin, Texas in order to be closer to baby Louis, 1, and Sandra, who had a wonderful relationship with his three children, Chandler, 16, Jesse, 13, and especially, 7-year-old Sunny. But, Jesse never got to see Louis, and Sunny lost complete contact with the woman whom she considered to be her mom.

“I moved initially so the kids could keep a relationship and I could kind of keep a relationship with Louis, and then whatever else happened besides that,” Jesse explains. “I’ve never seen Louis since everything happened. “I could only cry so much about him until I have to, like, suck it up and keep a stiff upper lip, and realize, hey, I have three kids that I do have.”

And as for Sunny, Jesse reveals, “She’s seen her [Sandra] a couple of times, but no contact at all for several months.” What a shame.

But, that’s what you get when you decide to shatter not only your own life, but the lives of your children. “I knew it was horrible while I was doing it,” Jesse admits of his extramarital affair, “I wanted to get caught, it was me trying to self sabotage my life.”

And as of now, Jesse’s self sabotage has led him in a new direction and he’s focused on his life with fiancee Kat and his three kids.

“I can’t worry about her anymore,” Jesse says of Sandra. “I think I’ve spent a chunk of the last five or six years worrying about her and what she thinks and what I should do and controlling all my movements,” he adds. “I think it’s time to worry about Jesse.”

Jesse admits that he’s not trying to redeem himself in the public eye, and good thing, because it’s not working. How do YOU feel about this, HollyMoms?

No wonder Jesse relocated Sunny to Austin, TX so she could be closer to Sandra—these people are all NUTS!

More evidence that Sandra Bullock, 46, is the only sane adult in Sunny James‘,7, life: Her mother, Janine Lindemulder, 42, was arrested in Austin, TX for harassing Sunny’s father, Jesse James, 41! Jesse complained to the Austin Police Department that Janine was “bombarding him with around-the-clock harassing phone messages,”  and Janine was arrested. She’s currently in jail waiting to appear before the judge today. These people should just give Sandra custody of little Sunny until they can pull themselves together and BEHAVE!

After Sandra divorced Jesse for cheating on her with a string of tattooed strippers and porn actresses, Jesse and Sunny relocated to Austin so she could be closer to her beloved ex-stepmom, Sandra. Janine, Jesse’s ex-wife and also a porn actress, left California and followed them, relocating to Austin. Wow, poor Sandra has this traveling band of crazies following her!

Jesse and Janine are still locked in a bitter custody battle over Sunny. They currently share custody, but Sunny lives with Jesse in his new home in Austin and Janine only has visitation.

We really respect you for considering the kids above all else.

While Jesse, 41, was married to Sandra he was granted full custody of Sunny after her mother, porn star Janine Lindemulder, was jailed for tax evasion. Sandra played a key role in the custody case, telling the court that she saw Sunny as her own daughter. “Sandra thought Jesse would never be able to hurt her again, but she was wrong,” another insider tells PopEater.com. “When Jesse was in rehab it was Sandy who was a mother to his little girl. Despite what Jesse did, Sandra never walked away from Sunny.”

But now, despite her desire to remain close to the little girl, Sandra has to try and allow Sunny to bond with Kat Von D which means leaving behind their mommy-daughter relationship. “She has given that sweet child nothing but love,” the source adds. “As difficult as this will be, once again Sandra will prove what a lady she is.” We have no doubt!

Sandra puts her feelings about Jesse James aside for the sake of her beloved former stepdaughter Sunny

Jesse James may be rushing to marry Kat Von D without any thought to how it will affect his children, but Sandra Bullock is going to do everything she can to make sure his youngest daughter Sunny will happily adjust to having a new stepmother.

A source close to Sandra reveals to Popeater: “Sandra loves Sunny with all her heart and will always be in her life. However, she also knows that [Sunny] will have a new mommy soon and will do whatever she needs to do to make sure Jesse’s new wife and Sunny have a great relationship even if that means taking a step away.”

Popeater‘s insider continues: “Sandra thought Jesse would never be able to hurt her again, but she was wrong. When Jesse was in rehab it was Sandy who was a mother to his little girl. Despite what Jesse did, Sandra never walked away from Sunny. She has given that sweet child nothing but love. As difficult as this will be, once again Sandra will prove what a lady she is.”

Sandra famously helped Jesse fight for custody of Sunny, against the six-year-old’s biological mother Janine Lindemulder. Now, with Jesse’s upcoming wedding to Kat Von D, Sunny will have yet another mother figure in her life, which could cause further confusion.

It seems that Sandra Bullock‘s Christmas wishes came true. Not only did she get to spend the day with her adopted son, Louis Bardot, but she also reunited with ex-husband Jesse James‘ daughter, Sunny, at her home in Austin, Texas. “Even though Sandra and her father are no longer together they have remained in touch — she had fun seeing Louis and playing with him,” a source tells RadarOnline.com.

According to the source, 5-year-old Sunny (whose mom is Jesse’s ex-wife former porn star Janine Lindemulder) also got to spend time with her dad’s new girlfriend, Kat Von D, in the morning before heading over to Sandra’s home. And the Oscar-winner couldn’t have been more happy. “Despite everything that has happened between Sandra and Jesse, Sandra has remained in touch with Sunny and his other two kids, Jesse Junior and Chandler, too,” explains the source.

Sandra dreads leaving Louis to go to work

HollyMoms, do you think it’s a good idea for an ex to still see the stepkids? Personally, I think it’s the best way to give all the children involved a sense of normalcy and family. Even Sunny’s mom thinks it’s a good idea. “Sunny loves Sandra and vice versa. She’s welcome to be a part of every aspect of Sunny’s life,” Janine told TMZ.

“I don’t want to know what life is like without those kids,” Sandra, 46, told People magazine last year after she and Jesse split. “Jesse and I both know these kids are all that matter. Whatever we need to do, in the healthiest way, we are going to be co-parenting.”

Despite the divorce, Sandra and Jesse, 41, both feel that it’s important for their kids to feel like a family. “Louis is their brother and Jesse and I will do whatever it takes for them to know that their world will not change and still be protected and safe and full of love,” Sandra says.

In fact, according to Sandra, it was Sunny’s idea for her to adopt Louis. “Out of the blue one day, Sunny proclaimed to me that we shouldn’t have another baby, that we should adopt,” reveals the star, who is so thrilled with her son, she’s hoping to adopt a baby girl in the near future!

Jesse is bringing his kids to his Sandra’s home so that their families can bond, despite the strange circumstances. “Sandra wants to make sure Louis grows up knowing Jesse’s children,” an insider told In Touch magazine recently, “so she is willing to put the past behind her for the sake of the kids. Sandra knows that having Jesse’s family in Louis’ life is good for him. So she’s opening her home and her heart to the children, inviting them to visit at Christmastime.”

Sandra wants to adopt a baby girl

But porn star Janine is furious at the thought of her daughter celebrating Christmas with Sandra. “The whole situation is ridiculous. What right has he got to take Sunny to see Sandra Bullock over Christmas when Janine cannot get to see her own daughter?” Janine’s mom, Jonlyn, tells RadarOnline, adding that her daughter was supposed to see Sunny on Thanksgiving but that never happened either.

Jesse, 41, is also being accused of not paying his legal bills or making child support payments, and Janine’s lawyer Richard Masson is prepared to take action. “Richard will file an emergency motion if he has to before Christmas because Sunny is supposed to be with Janine not Jesse,” says a source. “We are working actively to resolve this situation through the courts if need be because Mr. James must be compliant with their orders.”

If Jesse doesn’t start making child support payments and paying his legal fees, he could find himself behind bars.

Just eight months ago, it was all anyone wanted to talk about: Jesse James had cheated on Sandra Bullock. Sandra, 46, had just won her first Oscar for her performance in The Blind Side, and Jesse, 41, quickly became the most hated man in America. Shortly afterward, Sandra announced her adoption of little Louis and and her divorce — which became finalized in June — from Jesse. Now, while there might not be a total peace between Sandra and Jesse, there is a ceasefire. Sandra is coming home to Austin, Texas for Christmas, so she can spend it with Jesse’s three kids, who all loved their stepmom and had bonded with their stepbrother.

She’s flying her closest friends down to Austin and wants to make it special.” We respect Sandra for being the bigger person and putting the kids happiness ahead of her own hurt feelings.

No word yet on whether or not Jesse’s tattooed girlfriend Kat Von D, 28, will be join Sandra, Louis (who just turned one) and Jesse’s three kids — Chandler is 14, Jesse Jr. is 12 and little Sunny is 6 — but we’d be willing to bet that Jesse, who the insider said will be included in the festivities, won’t push it. That would be our advice, anyway.
