distance! A source close to the couple tells us that Leo will be in Australia until the end of the year shooting The Great Gatsby and that the nearly 20 hour flight and more than 12 hour time difference really took its toll.

“Long distance isn’t easy,” our source tells us. “They were both feeling it but they ended on great terms. No one ever believes a break up is amicable but in this case it really was.”

Another source tells us that their whirlwind romance was about “fun and good times” and since they are both such big stars they decided they couldn’t continue dating unless they were ready to “take it to another level.”

“They decided to quit while they were ahead,” the source adds.

Blake’s rep confirmed the break up to Us Weekly and Leo’s rep confirmed it to HollywoodLife.com. So what about those reports that Leo had never been so “smitten” and that he was planning to propose?

“Don’t be surprised if you see them back together in six months,” our source says. “This has nothing to do with having feelings for anyone else.”

Blake and Leo first hooked up in May 2011 at the Cannes Film Festival, where they got everyone talking with their PDA on Steven Spielberg‘s private yacht. Since then, they’ve taken their love all across the globe. Although their hot romance is over you know what they say: if you set love free and it comes back … it’s meant to be!

Unless you’ve literally been living under a rock, you’ve heard at least a little bit about Terra Nova, FOX’s incredibly ambitious new series about a family that travels millions of years into the past to live among the dinosaurs. With a budget of about $4 million per episode, the word “epic” doesn’t even begin to describe the buzzy new series, whose two-hour premiere airs at 8 p.m. tonight on FOX. Think Land of the Lost, but cooler. And sexier. And better. OK, fine, stop thinking about Land of the Lost!

Here are the five reasons I have Terra Nova cued up on my DVR at home:

1. Come on, it’s Steven Spielberg. My memory isn’t quite what it used to be, but I don’t recall Mr. Spielberg ever steering us wrong in the past. Among his past hits are a little movie called E.T., the new hit show Falling Skies, and of course, the Jurassic Park series. Oh, and speaking of Jurassic Park…

2. The next Jurassic Park movie isn’t coming out for a long, long time. According to Deadline.com, a fourth installment in the Jurassic Park saga is expected to hit theaters at some point within the next two to three years. I don’t know about you, but two years is an awfully long time to wait for my next dino fix. The only downside to Terra Nova vs. Jurassic Park? Not nearly enough Jeff Goldblum.

3. It has a Degrassi connection! Are you curious what Declan (Landon Liboiron) and his eyebrows have been up to since leaving the hallowed halls of Degrassi Community School? Well, you’ll be happy to know Landon scored a starring role on Terra Nova as the angsty teen of the Shannon family! (And yes, I promise to separate Landon from his Degrassi persona… eventually.)

4. It’s something different! Terra Nova is a total escape from the shows we’re used to seeing on TV these days. You won’t find any Upper East Siders, or witches, and you definitely won’t come across any vampires! Now, don’t get me wrong — I love all three — but you’ve got to admit, it’s nice to mix it up every once in a while.

5. It’s really not just about dinosaurs. Contrary to what the promos — and everything I’ve written so far — would have you believe, Terra Nova is not just a show about giant, ancient beasts. It’s also about real human relationships. In fact, Jason O’Mara teased a bit of what we can expect from the emotional side of the series in this cool interview with our sister site, TVLine!

If there’s one thing I learned from the June 19 series of premiere of TNT’s Falling Skies, it’s that I would be the first person killed upon an alien invasion. In case you missed the two-hour opener, Falling Skies is the story of Tom Mason (Noah Wyle), a history professor-turned-refugee who must survive following the invasion of robotic alien creatures known as “mechs” and “skitters.”

And while the show may have been produced by Steven Spielberg, these aliens were far from the cute-and-cuddly E.T. I was secretly hoping for. Nope, these guys were enormous, metallic, and armed with enough lasers to blow Tom and his merry band of refugees — known as the 2nd Massachusetts – to pieces.

But what surprised me the most about the two-hour premiere was that, underneath all the gunfire and explosions, was a show with a lot of heart. In some ways, I felt like I was watching an alien version of The Walking Dead, as we were given a pretty solid glance into the lives of Tom and his fellow survivors.

The focus on Tom’s relationships with his three sons made it oddly appropriate for Falling Skies to premiere on Father’s Day. While Tom’s middle son, Ben (Connor Jessup), was kidnapped by the aliens, his other two sons — Matt (Maxim Knight) and Hal (Drew Roy) — were right there by his side, hoping to learn enough about the “mechs” and “skitters” to kill them.

Also to the show’s credit, I wasted a TON of time on its surprisingly addictive website. (Click here to check that out.) If you find yourself obsessed with the show’s theology — or just its intense soundtrack — you’ll probably get lost surfing it as well.

But now that I’m sucked in, there are a ton of questions I want answered. What happened to the characters between the invasion and the formation of the 2nd Massachusetts? How do you kill those stupid things? And, dear God, will Tom & friends ever find Ben?!

At the time, comparing Transformers director Michael Bay to Adolf Hitler during an interview may have seemed to support Megan Fox‘s bad-girl image. But it wound up costing the sexy actress the gig that catapulted her to stardom!

Michael now says that while Megan’s comments didn’t especially upset him, they inspired immediate action from executive producer and film legend Steven Spielberg, he tells GQ.

“You know the Hitler thing,” Michael said. “Steven said, ‘Fire her right now.’”

Megan, 25, was thus replaced in the upcoming Transformers: Dark of the Moon by Victoria’s Secret model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley!

Way to blow it, Megan — staying in the Transformers franchise woud have only been great for your career!

Aliens may not be as sexy as vampires, but we don’t think you’ll have too much trouble getting hooked on TNT’s Steven Spielberg-produced miniseries Falling Skies, which kicks off at 9 p.m. tonight with a two-hour premiere. Star Noah Wyle plays a history professor who must lead a group of survivors after a devastating alien invasion.

But the extraterrestrial series isn’t all guns and gore. Noah tells TVLine that underneath the show’s action-packed exterior is a lot of heart. Viewers will see his character grapple with themes of “fatherhood, leadership, loss [and] grief.”

And for those of you who like a little mystery with your summer TV, it sounds like Falling Skies has you covered there, too.

“The more we learn, the more we learn we don’t really know” what’s going down on Earth, Noah tells TVLine.

Steven Spielberg and J.J. Abrams did a great job of keeping ‘Super 8”s secret… a secret! Even the film’s stars weren’t let in on the mystery!

HollywoodLife.com spoke to Elle Fanning about her new film Super 8 just weeks before it’s release, but the actress revealed she knew almost as little as we did about the film!
When asked about the filming of Super 8, 13-year-old Elle revealed most of her filming took place on a green screen so she and her co-stars didn’t even know what the film or “mystery “would look like!

“I haven’t even seen the movie yet,” Elle told us at the Young Hollywood Awards May 20. ”We’re going to find out (the secret) the same time you guys do.”

Elle did reveal that the film wasn’t all scary. “It has that scary aspect, but it’s also a love story,” Elle said.
