Stephen Colletti ran for his life on May 2. The actor began tweeting after a man walked into the terminal military-style and began firing shots from a semi-automatic rifle.

A man shot another man near the ticketing counter and then turned the gun on himself. Stephen was there and tweeted about everything that went down. Read his tweets below:

“5 or 6 shots fired 50 feet from me in Houston Airport. Terminal B. Never seen so many people move so fast and find such nooks to hide. #woah”

“2 shots rang out. Everyone froze, unsure. 10 seconds later, 3 or 4 more shots fired and people just panicked. Ran in all directions. Chaos.”

“Credit to the officers on scene here, the situation became calm, panic-free quickly however the terminal is still on lock down.”

“So that’s what that feels like.”

“My instincts lead me to an all too familiar place of panicked decisions, the kitchen of a McDonalds.”

“Trapped in McDonalds, I felt incredibly unsafe, then the walk-in freezer door swings open and a sweet little older woman waves me in. #angel.”

The terminal has been closed and everyone was moved to another terminal. Stephen is safe and sound but this is terrifying and we’re hoping that the man who was hurt will be okay. Authorities say that he suffered life threatening injuries.

One Tree Hill fans saw a lot of Stephen Colletti on the show’s ninth season premiere — like, almost all of him — but he assures HollywoodLife.com that the best is yet to come. Not only is Chase diving into a full-on bromance with Chris Keller (Tyler Hilton), but in just a few short weeks we’ll also get our answer to the all-important question: What was Chase doing in the back of a police car?!

“You’re going to find out in a few episodes,” Stephen tells us. “I was thrown for a loop when I first read the episode and found out how [Chase] ends up there. Let’s just say you shouldn’t jump to easy assumptions.”

I’m not going to let you go without asking about the tighty whities. My question is: Will there be more?

“No more tighty whites! Well, we’ll see, actually. I can’t answer that. It’ll be a cliffhanger. … That was a special day on set. It was one of those moments where everything seemed funny on paper, but then I’m sitting on the end of the bed with 40 or 50 crew guys around me, mostly men. (Hashtag: Career milestone.) We rolled with that scene, but when we had the scenes with Chase and Alex [Jana Kramer] getting frisky in bed, we decided to switch over to basketball shorts. Thank God.”

What about Chase and Chris Keller? We were promised a bromance, but you guys weren’t exactly getting along on the premiere.

“The ‘Cheller’ bromance is a love/hate relationship that we develop along the way. It’ll take the fans for a fun ride. Having Tyler back — and I never got to work with him originally — is really exciting. We hit it off right away. He’s one of those people who, right away, you feel like you have a connection with. I haven’t experienced a bromance before, so it’s great having him around.”

I understand Chelsea Kane will also be popping up in Tree Hill this season. You’ve met her before, yes?

[Laughs.] “Yes, once or twice.”

How was it having her around to work with?

“Oh, it was great. We’re shooting in North Carolina, so to have your girlfriend on the same coast as you is a good thing. She hit it off with [creator] Mark Schwahn right away. I thought it’d be fun if we only saw each other in one little scene, but we see each other a little more than people expect. She opens up the rival coffee shop across the street, so she plays the villain, but there’s an unexpected connection people will soon find out.”

Lastly, Chase is a pretty easygoing guy — but what will his biggest struggle be this season?

“As general as it sounds, it’s literally his entire life. Whether it’s his relationship side or his friendships or his career, he struggles with all of the above. Defining that for himself is his struggle, and that’s continuous throughout the season.”

Stephen Colletti spoke with HollywoodLife.com exclusively just hours after learning his show, ‘One Tree Hill,’ was surprisingly picked up for a ninth season!

After we heard One Tree Hill had been picked up for an unexpected ninth season May 17, we quickly got on the phone with Stephen Colletti to get his reaction to the exciting news. Read our exclusive Q-and-A with the 25-year-old actor to hear what his cast members had to say, his dream storyline for Chase and who he credits for getting picked up once again!

HL: How do you feel about being renewed?
SC: Someone was actually telling me One Tree Hill is trending on Twitter. It just goes to show our fan base is such a powerhouse. Everyone on the show recognizes and appreciates it. I’m happy for the fans and I’m happy for everyone in North Carolina who gets a job for another season.

HL: Why do you think OTH got picked up for another season?
SC: I can’t say enough for the fans. They love to live in Tree Hill and I think it’s really really awesome they have such an appreciation for it.

HL: What do you think will happen in Tree Hill next season?
SC: I don’t know, but I do know Mark will continue to crank out some quality Tree Hill drama.

HL: Do you think he’ll continue with the storyline of Chase being in the Air Force? How will that work?
SC: The finale takes place over a year, so a lot happens. I hope they continue the military aspect for Chase because I really like playing it. Mark kind of joked to me about asking if I was ready for another hair cut.

HL: What about a wedding? Do you see one in the cards for Chase?
SC: I think Chase is a settle down kind of guy. I think it could be, but who knows?

HL: If you could walk into the writers’ room and dictate your own storyline, what would happen?
SC: Chase would carry on as a pilot in the military. If Chase gets stationed in a base near Tree Hill, that would be perfect for him.

HL: What would you have happen with Chase’s relationships?
SC: It was fun playing the triangle through last season on the acting side. I enjoy doing that. But I think for Chase, hopefully there’s going to be some settling down.

HL: Have you talked to your co-workers today? What was the general reaction?
SC: There were some congrats around. I even got a text that was like, ‘Roommate?’

HL: When do you start shooting again?
SC: I don’t know. Maybe toward the end of June.

HL: What will happen with your and James Lafferty‘s project, ‘Generation Wild?’
SC: We’re still going to work on it. It’s always been planned — we knew we wouldn’t be there all the time. We will definitely still will be involved with it though.

HL: Do you have any final thoughts?
SC: Today is a good day. It’s cool they announced it today, the day of the finale.

The show hasn’t been picked up for the fall 2011 season yet. Do you think it deserves a last-minute renewal?

Many CW viewers breathed a sigh of relief April 26 when the network announced the renewal of five hit series — but the news wasn’t quite as hopeful for One Tree Hill fans, whose favorite show remains very much on the bubble. As a longtime fan myself, I have to say I’d be pretty bummed if these next three episodes also turn out to be the last. I’m not ready to say goodbye to the group of madcap southerners who taught me so much about life. And actually made me care about basketball.

1. The cast wants to do it.

It’s not every day you get actors wanting to stick with a series into its ninth year, which I think is a true testament to what a great show One Tree Hill is, and how much the cast enjoys working together. Sophia Bush, Bethany Joy Galeotti, Austin Nichols, Robert Buckley, Stephen Colletti and Lisa Goldstein have all signed on for a potential ninth season, with James Lafferty reportedly interested in returning at least part-time.

2. The fans deserve a ‘final season.’

Much like Smallville fans have been savoring every second of the show’s admitted “final season,” One Tree Hill fans deserve the same experience. There are a ton of story lines to wrap up, and unless the writers know ahead of time that the series is ending, there will be a ton of loose ends left… well, loose.

3. The characters’ stories aren’t finished!

The denizens of Tree Hill, N.C., have been through a lot over the past eight years. We’ve watched them long for their dreams, achieve their dreams, and ultimately… lose their dreams. Do we seriously want the series to end on such a low note? Let’s see Nathan’s back heal enough for him to shoot some hoops again. Let’s see Brooke regain her clothing empire (which it looks like she’s finally starting to.) Heck, I’m even interested in seeing Mouth (Lee Norris) get back in the newsroom!

4. Lucas & Peyton might actually come back… seriously this time!

While I’m sure the current regulars hate hearing about it, the fans really want to see Lucas (Chad Murray) and Peyton (Hilarie Burton) make one last trip to Tree Hill before the series ends. And Chad recently broke his silence about the possibility, tweeting: “Return to oth? I don’t know. Maybe next season for u guys.”

5. Do you really want Glee‘s Brittany to die so young?

One of my favorite lines ever spoken on Glee — not that there are many — was when sexually-confused cheerleader Brittany (Heather Morris) said she didn’t want to die “before One Tree Hill gets canceled.” Doesn’t she deserve at least a few more precious months on this earth?

I say “speechless,” of course, because it wasn’t technically Lucas in the conventional sense of the word. As in… not Chad Michael Murray. In fact, it was just a dummy that Skills (Antwon Tanner) dressed in Lucas’ Ravens jersey and decorated with some permanent marker facial hair. Lots of other silly things happened tonight, like drunk shopping, face slapping and plot scheming! Just another week in Tree Hill.

Desperate to find a best man, Julian (Austin Nichols) organized a poker game with the guys, but messed up big time by bringing along Alex (Jana Kramer) because, as we all know, drama tends to follow Alex like the ghost of Uncle Keith haunts Dan Scott’s every waking moment. She planned on getting back on Chase’s (Stephen Colletti) good side, but instead accidentally let it slip that she slept with Clay (Robert Buckley) way back when.

Meanwhile, Brooke (Sophia Bush) went wedding shopping with Julian’s mom (the epic Sharon Lawrence), who had a little too much to drink and passed out on the floor. Fortunately, this freed Brooke up to go home and deliver the best line of the episode, referring to the Lucas doll as Julian’s “best mannequin” since he did, in fact, choose it. Brooke Davis hasn’t lost her wit.

And what the whaaaaat is up with Erin? She agreed to work with Haley (Bethany Joy Galeotti) at Red Bedroom Records, and she made a crazy little face when she walked through the door. She’s scheming something big. Someone on the HollywoodLife.com staff thinks she might secretly be a man, but I’m not naming names.

I think we can all agree that NO ONE outside of the people on this show would ever watch Julian’s (Austin Nichols) documentary about the Tree Hill gang’s daily lives. Why would people willingly subject themselves to an hour of depressing southerners talk about giving up their dreams and being unhappy? Oh, wait… I do that every single week now.

The slower scenes, however, were punctuated once again by moments of sheer genius from Miz Sophia Bush. As I watched Brooke lose her money, her company and her mother, I felt like I was walking through white collar hell right along with her.

And now, my sources of boredom & sadness this evening:

1. Is it just me, or are the girls always right on this show, and the guys always absurdly understanding? Between Nathan (James Lafferty) crying on the season premiere, and now Julian practically living merely to boost Brooke’s ego… these guys had better be getting some.
2. Why is Haley (Bethany Joy Galeotti) suddenly working for a crisis help line? Note to Miz James Scott: You may have a flair for the theatrical, but you are not Brenda Walsh! (Also, who do we all think is the mystery person who keeps calling her?)
3. Even if Chase (Stephen Colletti) turned into a werewolf and Alex (Jana Kramer) turned into a vampire and they started fighting, I would STILL NOT care even the smallest of bits about their storyline. Just serve the beer, kids.
4. Weird goop is still oozing from Clay (Robert Buckley) and Quinn’s (Shantel VanSanten) bullet wounds, but they were both allowed to go home to the scene of the crime. Let the horrific flashbacks begin!

Was I watching One Tree Hill tonight… or Lost? The similarities are uncanny.

While I disagree with the show’s decision to extend Clay’s (Robert Buckley) adventures in Purgatory for yet another week, I will applaud the Sept. 21 episode of The CW’s One Tree Hill for trying something weird. Sure, we’ve seen another version of this storyline before — remember when Lucas (Chad Michael Murray) had a post-heartattack visit to the afterlife? — but I was still legitimately sucked into it. When Clay watched himself dying, I felt like I was watching myself dying. Spooky stuff.

The ghostly merriment continues next week, but hopefully it won’t go any further than that. If we only get half a season, I don’t want to spend any more of it watching dead characters. Let’s just get that miracle pregnancy for Sophia Bush already!

Additional assorted afterthoughts:

1. Could the show be any more desperate to get Lucas and Peyton (Hilarie Burton) back? They’ve both been mentioned many, many times — and we’re only two episodes in!
2. Does everyone in Tree Hill, N.C., use an iPhone?
3. For the first time, I’m actually liking Mia (Kate Voegele) even if I did NOT like her version of the theme song tonight. It’s entertaining to watch her fight with Alex (Jana Kramer) and it almost makes me care about Chase’s (Stephen Colletti) storyline.
4. When they make another Superman movie, James Lafferty should audition. He’s kind of got that whole emotionless Christopher Reeves/Brandon Routh thing going on.
5. Haley’s (Bethany Joy Galeotti) speech about her “beautiful swan of a sister” is undoubtedly one of those ridiculous things that only a One Tree Hill character could get away with saying.
6. I’ve been pretty sick of Jamie (Jackson Brundage) lately, but I loved his scenes with Julian (Austin Nichols) tonight.

Not a whole lot happened this week, but it was a solid hour with the kind of performances (and musical montages) we’ve come to expect.

I would have titled this post “Watch a bunch of boring side characters you don’t care about engage in a pointless conversation,” but then you wouldn’t have clicked on it! Either way, here’s a scene from next Tuesday’s (Sept. 21) all-new episode of One Tree Hill.

I think I speak for all loyal viewers when I say: Can we please not have so many scenes that center around Jamie Scott (Jackson Brundage?) He was a cute little 5-year-old when he was introduced at the start of season five, but over the past three years his cuteness gradually turned into sheer annoyance.

And don’t even get me started on how boring it is to watch Chase (Stephen Colletti) and Mia (Kate Voegele) hash out their snoozefest of a relationship.
