It sounds like three familiar faces will soon be returning to a galaxy far, far away! Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford — who played Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia and Han Solo in the original Star Wars trilogy — are expected to return for Lucasfilm’s upcoming continuation of the series after creator George Lucas spilled the beans in an interview with Bloomberg Businessweek.

‘Star Wars Episode VII’ Cast: Did George Lucas Say Too Much?

“We had already signed Mark and Carrie and Harrison — or we were pretty much in final stages of negotiation,” he said, immediately realizing he might have said too much. “Maybe I’m not supposed to say that. I think they want to announce that with some big whoop-de-do, but we were negotiating with them. … I won’t say whether the negotiations were successful or not.”

(Yeah, OK, like they weren’t successful.)

What Will ‘Star Wars Episode VII’ Be About?

That’s a really good question. Unfortunately, at the moment, we don’t really have an answer for you. But we do have details about the movie’s release! We can expect Star Wars Episode VII to hit theaters in 2015 — and it’s far from the final installment.

“For the past 35 years, one of my greatest pleasures has been to see Star Wars passed from one generation to the next,” George said in a statement. “It’s now time for me to pass Star Wars on to a new generation of filmmakers. I’ve always believed that Star Wars could live beyond me, and I thought it was important to set up the transition during my lifetime.”

And as HollywoodLife.com continued our conversation, Donald told us one of his most sought after dream roles, and it is none other then the Star Wars series! Donald gushed, “Huge Star Wars fan, they chose the right director, they got that part right! I would also say that Matthew Vaughn or Joss Wheedon would have done perfect as well.”

And as for being a part of the film Donald continued, “I have to be in a Star Wars film! I would love to fly in a X-Wing, and maybe be Lando’s son. I just want to be a part of it.”

In a galaxy very very close to George Lucas, he just got engaged to his longtime girlfriend and businesswoman, Mellody Hobson, and NO, it’s not his sister!

Now that George has quite a lot of time on his hands after selling off his Star Wars franchise to Disney, he has taken his free time and made good use of it, as he is now engaged to his seven-year-strong girlfriend Mellody, E! News confirms.

This is the first marriage for Mellody but the second for the 68-year old creator of arguably the biggest movie franchise of all time. We have yet to confirm if Chewbacca will be the best man.

Speaking of the franchise, we all know that the next film in the series is slotted for 2015, and George is excited for what will happen. Looks like everything is going amazingly well for George and we are very happy for all the good news that has been happening in his life.

J.J. Abrams and Jon Favreau both had different opinions on the possibility to go to a galaxy far far away!

J.J. Abrams on ‘Star Wars Episode 7′

“Look, Star Wars is one of my favorite movies of all time,” J.J. gushed. He added, “I frankly feel that – I almost feel that, in a weird way, the opportunity for whomever it is to direct that movie, it comes with the burden of being that kind of iconic movie and series. I was never a big Star Trek fan growing up, so for me, working on Star Trek didn’t have any of that, you know, almost fatal sacrilege, and so, I am looking forward more then anyone to the next iterations of Star Wars, but I believe I will be going as a paying moviegoer!”

Jon Favreau is Less Squeamish About ‘Star Wars’

But Jon appeared to be a little more interested in sitting in the director’s chair, saying, “I think both J.J. and I come from a generation of people who formed our whole creative persona around what we experienced as kids from watching those films, and I have had the good fortune of working with George [Lucas] and around George, and whether it is doing a voice on Clone Wars, or being at the Skywalker Ranch mixing Iron Man – so I have been very happy and lucky to just experience the culture that Lucas has created, both in my own life growing up as a kid and professional – whether it was interviewing him at film festivals on stage, he is just a really wonderful, talented gifted guy who has changed the business so much, so I am just giddy, first and foremost as a fan, to see what happens with it. I think there is a lot of question marks of how they are going to do it, and who they are going to do it with, and what the story is going to be about; but to say that I am not excited about it is definitely an understatement. We’ll see.”

Regardless of how we all feel about the latest Star Wars films and all the awful thoughts of Jar Jar Binks, the legendary series has a place in all of our hearts. Now Disney and Lucasfilm are continuing the franchise with an announced Episode 7 which is maybe the biggest surprise and well kept secret in the history of film!

Disney has completed the purchase of Lucasfilm and in the press release a very interesting nugget of information has been released that will make fanboys be giddy in anticipation as it mentions, “[New Lucasfilm president Kathleen] Kennedy will serve as executive producer on new Star Wars feature films, with George Lucas serving as creative consultant. Star Wars Episode 7 is targeted for release in 2015, with more feature films expected to continue the Star Wars saga and grow the franchise well into the future.”

George added, “For the past 35 years, one of my greatest pleasures has been to see Star Wars passed from one generation to the next. It’s now time for me to pass Star Wars on to a new generation of filmmakers. I’ve always believed that Star Wars could live beyond me, and I thought it was important to set up the transition during my lifetime. One thing to note, a film of this magnitude will get the entire A-List community out in droves, as everyone will want to be a part of the franchise that has defined generations. So it will be very interesting to see if HollywoodLife favorites Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart would be a part of such an amazing film. Only time will tell.

So HollywoodLifers, are you excited for another Star Wars film?

When I think of the Star Wars franchise, my imagination is taken to a place that few films can ever even wish to get near — and I see the very same thing happening when it comes to Twilight. This is both a good thing and a bad thing…so let me explain. More than 30 years have past since the first Star Wars film premiered and people continue to talk about the film as if it came out yesterday. The series is beyond legendary and has a following like none other, but they are not a guarantee for superstardom for the main players in the cast.

For every Harrison Ford there is a Mark Hamill. And I think 30 years from now the saying will go, for every Robert Pattinson there is a Taylor Lautner. Harrison Ford — who played Han Solo in the Star Wars films — parlayed his talents into films the likes of Indiana Jones, Blade Runner, The Fugitive and Patriot Games, to name a few. Robert Pattinson is easily going down that same route of choosing interesting projects like Water For Elephants and Cosmopolis to test his acting chops. Once he takes a few more risks in the action field and in comedy, he will have shown his diverseness and proven he is here to stay.

But as we can see with the recent release of Abduction and its critical backlash and current worldwide box office total of $17 million, Taylor’s chances of becoming a superstar are a far cry from the Tom Cruise comparisons he has been getting the last few weeks. Just like Mark Hamill faded into the background, I predict the same thing will happen to Taylor.

So where does that leave Kristen Stewart? That answer is easy…she’s just like Carrie Fisher.

Carrie Fisher played Princess Leia, who is the original Bella, the girl everyone wants and everyone loves. Plus, just like R-Patz has won K-Stew’s heart in real life, Harrison Ford’s character won Carrie Fisher’s character’s heart in the Star Wars films. Carrie Fisher appeared in critically favored films and even has become an established writer. Unfortunately, Carrie also has had substance abuse issues that derailed her career for some time, so we can only hope Kristen Stewart and her cigarette and marijuana enjoyments don’t cause any problems.

Also, it looks like K-Stew, who is next appearing in Snow White & The Huntsman, may take her sexy steel suit worn in the film into the same stratosphere as the metal bikini once worn by Princess Leia and turn it into very successful leading lady roles in the future.

When it comes to the Twilight versus Star Wars comparison, both of these films will be remembered for the good and the bad and the actors will be around forever in various spectrums of stardom. However, I think we can definitely turn to Star Wars history is we’re curious where Twilight will end up in the future.

So it’s only fitting that we pit two other timeless standards — Kim Kardashian and Jennifer Aniston – against each other to see who rocked the look best!

When we first saw Kim don the gold bikini in a clip from Kanye West‘s failed Comedy Central show Alligator Boots, our first thought was, “Wow, Kim looks super hot in that gold bikini.” But now that we’ve had a few days to let it sink in, our new thought is: “Wow, Kim still looks super hot in that gold bikini — but hey, remember when Jen wore it on Friends?”
