Star Trek Into Darkness is boldly going where no Star Trek has gone before: to Twitter! Paramount Pictures tweeted the first official poster for the sequel Dec. 3, revealing Benedict Cumberbatch‘s villainous character — rumored to be the infamous Khan — standing atop the rubble of a city in ruins.

But what does this imagery actually mean? It’s still any Trekkie’s guess at this point, but at least it’ll give us something to chew on as we wait (impatiently) for the movie’s May 2013 release.

Several sites are pointing out the poster’s eerie similarity to the poster for The Dark Knight Rises, which we can’t disagree with. They’re practically twinsies.

The famous ‘Star Trek’ actor called Twilight ‘really, really bad.’ Was he out of line?

George Takei, best known as Hikaru Sulu on Star Trek, made a video addressing his former co-star William Shatner and Star Wars’ Carrie Fisher, who have been feuding over whose franchise is better, to focus on the bigger problem in the science fiction world today: Twilight.

George claims that what is needed today is “Star Peace” and says,”for there is an ominous mutual threat to all science fiction. It’s called Twilight and it is really, really bad.”

He goes on to insult Kristen Stewart‘s and Robert Pattinson‘s characters and explains, “Gone is any sense of heroism, camaraderie or epic battles. In its place, we have vampires that sparkle, moan and go to high school.”

In addition to his mocking the series, he thinks Twilight doesn’t mentally stimulate the audience’s minds. “Sci-fi fans be warned, there are no great stories, characters or profound life lessons to be found in Twilight. Nooo…In Twilight, the only message that rings through loud and clear is: ‘Does my boyfriend like me?’”

He muses that he and his fellow ‘star folks’ should band together to end this ‘mutual threat.’

He is one of Hollywood’s hottest young stars, but Star Trek actor Chris Pine is a self-admitted bore! Soon to be seen in Unstoppable, Chris spoke with Details for their November issue and told the mag, “Sometimes I think I need to get crazy. Go to Vegas. Do some drugs. Get some hookers. Gamble it all away. And it never happens. I usually just end up at home on my couch—reading.” Come on Chris!

The young hunk has been linked to everyone from Olivia Munn to Audrina Patridge, but says when he is working he has no time for the ladies. “I disappear. It’s how I’m programmed,” he explains. “Work takes up a lot of my brain space. So when I work, it’s one thing. I don’t have a lot of time to think about dating.”

Can you imagine how worried you’d be if a long-time pal went missing for weeks on end?

Now that 41-year-old Andrew Koenig has been missing since Feb. 14, his old friend, former Full House star Candace Cameron-Bure confided to HollywoodLife.com she’s deeply worried about his safety.

“We will pray that they find him and that he’s safe,” Candace — who became close to Andrew when he worked with her brother, Kirk Cameron, on the 90’s sitcom Growing Pains — told HollywoodLife.com exclusively at the Movieguide Awards Feb. 23 in Los Angeles.

“It’s all kind of…taken me aback that he’s missing. So…I mean. My heart goes out to him, it goes out to his family. How do you find someone? It’s heartbreaking. I hope it just ends positively,” the 33-year-old actress said.

Andrew was last seen Feb. 14 in Vancouver, Canada. His dad, Star Trek star Walter Koenig, has launched a full-blown search for his missing son.

Andrew Koenig (in video on right) starred on the 90s sitcom Growing Pains as Mike Seaver‘s (Kirk Cameron) rowdy best friend, Richard “Boner” Stabone, but the actor, now 41, had been battling depression before disappearing on Valentine’s Day, his dad says.

Andrew’s dad, Star Trek actor Walter Koenig, posted a statement on his Web site describing his son as “suffering from depression” and “not doing good” before last being seen in Vancouver, Canada Feb. 14. According to the site, Andrew was supposed to take a plane back to the U.S. Feb. 16, but never actually boarded the plane. No one has heard from him since.

His dad pleads, “If you’ve seen Andrew since February 14th, contact Detective Raymond Payette of the Vancouver PD at 604-717-2534.”

Both of Andrew’s parents plan on going to Vancouver to look for their son in the next couple days.

Sorry ladies, looks like Chris isn’t on the market just yet!

If you thought you had a fighting chance with Star Trek hottie Chris Pine, think again. Despite reports of a split during the Golden Globes, he and on again/off again girlfriend, Iron Man 2 star Olivia Munn, are still very much together.

Although the gorgeous duo – who have been together since October 2009 – didn’t look as if they were shooting sunshine out their bums as they left L.A. eatery Madeo Jan. 21, at least we at HollywoodLife.com can confirm that they’re still actually seeing one another. Re: not split just yet, suckers!

We personally noticed the pair avoiding one another at the NY Times pre-Golden Globes gala on Jan. 15 at LA’s Chateau Marmont, but apparently the 29-year-olds are attempting to repair any rifts in their short-lived relationship.
